It'll also age better - X is genuinely unplayable now.

Woah, that's a bit far. I finished the Wii VC version a while back and it's still playable.

If one game needed a dedicated sound processor on N64, it was F-Zero X. F-Zero and GX have really good soundtracks.

I meant on the original hardware, I haven't tried it on VC.

Cannot wait for this. E3 is going to be great again this year. :D

As for F-Zero X, it is a great game but GX is far superior. It's like F-Zero X on steroids.

Big Blue music.

Most of them (64 in particular) are gooseberry fool.

Super Circuit was the best and actually is a very good game.

Had the most fun with Mario Kart 64 because of the 4 player. Nothing will change that. Mario Kart DS is A LOT of fun because of the 8 player local games, in a pub with a large group of friends, it's brilliant.

Mario Kart Wii is the worst.

Mario Kart 64 has aged horribly though.

I still play Mario Kart 64 every now and then and it's still fun. Then again, games aged horribly doesn't matter to me - as long as I'm having fun that's all it matters.
Anyway, this has me excited. Very good reason to get 3DS  (Not that I wasn't going to get it, no way I'll miss out on Paper Mario 3DS.)

Me and my friends (up until recently) played it every weekend for the last 14 years. It's still as brilliant as ever.
