I never understood the funfair with Friends, it was an ok show, but to be still shown as it is on channels like C4/E4 is laughable, was it really that good that it justifies so many repeats? Yet Seinfeld is very rarily shown over here!

That is all. (I expect this thread will die a horrible death)

Best US comedy show. Ever. (apart from Frasier)

Nobody from Friends went on a racist rant on stage.

That I know of.

Friends was incredibly successful over here, Seinfeld was given a gooseberry fool slot on BBC 2 and a big following never materialised.

S'not rocket science.

To be perfectly honest, I've never seen the fuss with Seinfeld.

I mean, Friends is harmless wallpaper TV, especially after season 3. Seinfeld always seemed to be held in this high rank of the comedy hierarchy that I never particularly understood why it deserved.

It's no Frasier.

I never watched Seinfeld, didn't it fall into the BBC2 schedule black hole so it was never on at a decent time? I've heard it was very good, and I'd probably enjoy it.

However, you can't call Friends "ok", it might not always be bang on form (and Chandler/Monica's whole love conquers all thing in the later series where they have problems but they love each other so it's okay (ahhhhh!") got really irritating), but when it's good it's up there with the best.

I don't want to repeat my feelings on Frasier. :(

1: It's fanfare, not funfair.
2: Friends is still shown on channel 4 and e4 a lot because a decent proportion of viewers with nothing better to do will happily sit and watch it. Seinfeld never took off in the UK in the same way as Friends (even if Sein is more critically feted).

Then don't.

For Frasier is awesome.

I wish Seinfeld was syndicated here. I know Paramount showed it a few years ago but I've not seen it on TV since.

I want to watch Sienfeld. Can anyone help me in this department? And don't link me to the boxsets.

Did the BBC even show it all?

Most of the first two, maybe three seasons were shown sort of recently on Virgin 1. A year ago or so.
