This thread is a bad idea.

Friends is my favourite TV show (I'm sure someone, possibly more than one person, will say something regarding this), I think it's fantastic and I am yet to tire of it. The reason Friends is still on TV is because people over here really took to it, and they still enjoy watching it. You can put it on and enjoy it, there are plenty of funny moments and that's what people want.

I recently got into Seinfeld, and am getting the complete set for Christmas. Whilst I prefer Friends overall, I wish Seinfeld had the same success over here as Friends did. I'd have been very young when it hit its stride, so I have no idea why it failed over here.

I've never watched Frasier, so I'm not going to comment there.

This is truth.

Actual, distillable truth.

Also, not to sound like some really pedantic dick but I remember when BBC2 first started showing Seinfeld, they really tried to push it with a good timeslot. I saw an advert for it and thought it looked like the kind of terrible US comedy I'd go out of my way to avoid. I don't think it ever got much of an audience, even years later when lots of folk were wanking on about it being the greatest comedy ever (though by then it was on a lot later at night).

Frasier > Friends

Friends is alright if watching while drunk/stoned, but the whole ross/rachel got tiresome through the whole series.

Been meaning to check out Seinfeld.

Sorry for the clips, but the contest has to be my favourite episode, here's another clip!

The first time I saw Seinfeld was when they showed it on BBC2 at 12am. They called it 'BBC 2's best kept secret.' :fp:

MASH > Seinfeld > Frasier >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Friends

The early seasons of friends are awful, the later seasons are much better but still not a patch on the other 3.

Also Courteney Cox > Jennifer Aniston, just thought Id throw that in there.

I really should see more than the handful of episodes that were on last year.

Will someone hurt me if i admit to never having watched Seinfeld?

On a serious note, i never watched Seinfeld, i blame bbc2 for this and my general laziness. If ch4 or sky1 had picked up the show then i think it would have been far more successful. Most people forget that Friends actually started out on Sky1 before it switched to Ch4.

WTF it's clearly the other way round.

And MASH? MASH just isn't that funny anymore. That laugh track genuinely ruins it.

*Cracks knuckles*

Oh it's on now.

MASH was extremely important, but never particularly amazing, and even David Arquette would have had a crack at Rachel.

You could easily say the same for Friends. It doesn't seem to be able to go 5 seconds without some canned laughter, even if nothing's happened.

The cast of Seinfield are reuniting for the first time since the show ended on Curb Your Enthusiam series 7, due to be screened later this year on More 4. Do whatever you must to catch up with this program, because it's a different class to anything anyone has posted here yet.

The silly neighbourhood vegetable.
