Welcome to the PS3 FIFA09 GRcade league thread!

SEASON 1 has started!

The inaugural game of the first season of the original PS3 FIFA09 GRCade League has taken place, with Bristol City giving Corinthians a good kicking (or so the score line would suggest). Check out the match report on page 3 to see how things really panned out.

I THINK people can still join the league even though we've started, so if you still want to join, PM me with your choice of team from the big list below (but not using any of the teams already assigned).

If the required number sign up, I'm in.

Unfortunately, any time we try and arrange something for Fifa 09 PS3 on here we get about 3 sign ups and it never gets off the ground. Must be a result of the rampant 360 fanboyism on here.

well that's 4 i think! except only two replied positively in the poll (and I'm one of them).

i'm sure there's a few more people out there with the game on PS3, though maybe they're just not interested in a league?

still, there's no rush to get it all sorted in one day...if we get just a few more people we could even start with a mini-league which might help generate an interesting thread that would get other people's juices flowing!

I have fifa on PS3, never played online though Sounds like it could be fun. Count me in time permitting of course.

here's my suggestions:
*use 3 star teams from the list shamelessly stolen from degoose in the 360 league thread
*injuries off
*suspensions on
*play games whenever, and just set a time limit for the league to be finished in - though we could still arrange 'match days' when we try to get everyone online at the same time to play a few games.

Team Selection:
either
*Each player randomly assigned a team from the list (which if i'm doing it would just involve me going to exhibition mode, pressing random until i get a team from the list then assign that to the next player, doing my team last)
*a lottery to decide an order in which each player gets to pick their own team from the list.

Derby County 3 star??? 3 shite more like.

since i have no experience of any of these teams in fifa, if i have the choice then i will be using the skilful tactic of picking a team from as high up the list as i can!

Anyway, we're now approaching the magic number of 10 players!
How about we wait until tomorrow afternoon to see if we get any more people, and for opinions on the rules to come flooding in, then depending on the preferred method of team selection i'll start on that so that people can select their teams, practice and generally gird their loins with the intent of kicking off the league by next Friday? Obviously extra people could join after tomorrow but they would pick/be assigned their team as they turn up.

I'd go for the lottery option provided it doesn't take too long and I don't draw Aberdeen.

sounds good sw26 definitly go for the lttery approach

I would be in but I can't get my Playstation connected to the network from uni, so I'd only be able to play over holidays...
