A 2.5% swing TO Labour.

That is very embarrassing for the Conservatives.

These elections couldn't have gone any worse for the Tories.

Would be hilarious if the Tories lose there too considering the narrative in the press going into today.

Khan wins in London, numbers are all in, overall a 3.2% swing from Tories to Labour.

After the horrendous trauma that Hall suffered on the tube, this is a real kick in the teeth for her and good, honest, working people. What an injustice.

43.8% vote share for Khan.

You can expect right wingers to be shouting that he didn't get above 50%, so remember to remind them that Johnson's Tories only got 43.6% in the 2019 general election.

The fact that the Tories are below the lib dems overall after today makes me feel this is the first election day in the UK that's actually given me a slight bit of hope.

Can you imagine if we have a general election and the main party are Labour and the opposition party are the Lib Dems? I'm dreaming of a total Tory wipeout here and god it's beautiful even if Starmers Labour isn't great overall currently.

If we had PR and people could vote for whoever they wanted, Labour/the LDs/Greens would have the chance to get enough MPs to permanently keep the Tories out of power, with enough left wing voices to hold Labour to account.

But in our current system, I'll take the Tories finishing third.
