All that's really left to arrange is where each of us are meeting. Apparently the game starts at 2. My train should get into Southampton at 12:45 so if you can get to the station for that time then we could meet up then. If he has the time and doesn't mind going out of his way Gaz might be able to fetch us from the station as I assume he will be driving down. If not then we'll need to find our own way.

I might drive this time, might be easier.

Also - do we have any better idea how many places are paid?

Whacked $150 in iPoker to play some HU. Frustrating and dull first session (ended like $5 down), may consider playing the donkaments instead.

Ok. Game is at 2, but this time it's in Shirley. Will probably need one of you guys to drive the TEAM down, if that's cool? It's not all that far away, but further than walking distance really.

Any time after 1 for meetup at my house is coo'. You're all welcome to stay the night, wherever I can stick you :P Then there's a place (if it's still open, of course) where we can get a fry-up the next morning, if you fancy it.

I like the idea of going out for breakfast in the morning.

Did a freezeout for practice live today - similar field size to what the team tournament will be. Got off to a good start by rivering one flush and one straight and getting called on my raises on the end. However later on, someone shoved into me with 15BBs and I called with A-K, only for them to flip A-A which halved my stack. I was amazed he had the Aces.

Anyway, waited and waited and waited for a spot, and got it all in with A-8d over a UTG raise. I know the guys plays well and knew he was weak. He was weak, but duly called with 5-4 of the eexact same suit and binked a 5 to send me out.

Now no Aces, Kings, Queens and Jacks for five games in a row - obviously saving them all for Sunday....

Heh. Similar story for me last night really, probably the worst live tournament I've had. I wasn't able to get anything going all night and duly busted when I got my last in with 99 vs KJ.

The WSOP starts tomorrow with the Heads Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship (256 Max) event. Just for fun I have made some predictions for this year's series. :D

The following to win bracelets:

Daniel Negreanu
John Juanda
Carlos Mortensen
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Jason Mercier
Daniel Alaei
David Baker (original, no "Bakes")
Sam Trickett
Eric Baldwin
Eugene Katchalov

WSOP Rematches:

#1: 2003 WSOP Main Event: Chris Moneymaker vs. Sammy Farha
#2: 1989 WSOP Main Event: Johnny Chan vs. Phil Hellmuth
#3: 1988 WSOP Main Event: Johnny Chan vs. Erik Seidel

And some one-offs:

Phil Hellmuth to win a non-hold'em bracelet :shifty:
John Juanda to make the main event final table
Matt Affleck to (finally) make the main event final table

8-)

A rare moment of run bad:

Poker Stars $7.34+$0.66 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t150/t300 Blinds + t25 - 7 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

feadya (BTN): t2320 M = 3.71
tobias04 (SB): t5860 M = 9.38
Sus Antigoon (BB): t3005 M = 4.81
PeppeSwe (UTG): t5008 M = 8.01
slash24787 (UTG+1): t6791 M = 10.87
021poker021 (MP): t3665 M = 5.86
Hero (CO): t7188 M = 11.50

Pre Flop: (t625) Hero is CO with AImage AImage
3 folds, Hero raises to t745, feadya calls t745, 2 folds

Flop: (t2115) AImage 2Image 4Image (2 players)
Hero checks, feadya bets t1550 all in, Hero calls t1550

Turn: (t5215) 8Image (2 players - 1 is all in)

River: (t5215) 3Image (2 players - 1 is all in)

Final Pot: t5215
feadya shows QImage JImage (a flush, Ace high)
Hero shows AImage AImage (three of a kind, Aces)
feadya wins t5215

It'll be interesting to see if all of the famous pros turn up for the WSOP after the whole Full Tilt fiasco.

The following to win bracelets:

Michael Tureniec
John Eames
Dwyte Pilgrim
Roberto Romanello
Humberto Brenes
Roberto Romanello
Neil 'Bad Beat' Channing
ELKY
My girl Vicky Coren if she goes  (I worked for her for two weeks earlier this year)

WSOP Rematches:

#1: 2003 WSOP Main Event: Chris Moneymaker vs. Sammy Farha

Moneymaker to win - hes better than ever and I doubt Farha will take it that seriously.

#2: 1989 WSOP Main Event: Johnny Chan vs. Phil Hellmuth

Hellmuth to win this comfortably - then not shut up about it for the next year.

#3: 1988 WSOP Main Event: Johnny Chan vs. Erik Seidel

Erik to continue his incredible run-good - Chan to cap off a miserable series against his former match-ups. Seidelk is a HU King - Chan is NOT.

And some one-offs:

A female to FINALLY make the Main Event Final Table
Attendances in all events UP despite Black Friday
Tom Dwan fails to make any significant impact.

Good job on the won Dml. Bring the run good.

WSOP predictions (not that I'm a huge fanboy):

Trickett for at least one if not a brace of lets.
Seidel for a holdem bracelet.
A female to win the ladies event.

What hap? Oh and you have Romanello in twice. Good shout though, he's on a roll the last 8 months or so.

Can't see any of these coming through. Regards the Dwan one, "significant impact" can be be roughly translated to final table, yeah? I think he's a dangerous person to bet against considering his bracelet bets - he played an absolute boat load of events last year - and had the entire Rio sweating when he made HU in one event.

Apparently Matusow has registered for the $25k HU - C'MON MIKEY!

This online poker thing is pretty addictive isn't it? I started playing on Paddy Power a few days ago, just 1 dollar double up games so far. I seem to be doing alright though, i'm only playing the strongest hands, maybe 3-5 per game and it seems to be working. Anyway, do you guys have any tips or websites or anything for a noob?

Opening post has a good amount of general strategy for different game types, amongst other things, including this!

I just got heads up in a $2.50 180-man against a super-fish and then run bad kicks in.

I win a hand against him with my J9 flopping a straight v his T6 which has hit top pair. This puts him on tilt and he decides to shove every hand.

First I call his shove with A9s, he has J2 and wins.
Then I fold my 24o.
Next I have AQ and he shoves, I call. He has K5 and rivers a king to win the hand.
I am completely crippled now and so shove my J3, he has KK and flops the set.

:fp:

Still got $82 for 2nd, but it's an extra $41 if my hands had held.
