I went 59 tournaments without a cash and then managed a 5th. :fp:

Even in the 5th I ran terrible. At the final table I made a standard shove from the SB against the short stacked BB and ran into aces doubling him up. A few hands later I do the same except I have QQ this time, he once again has aces and knocks me out.

How does one go about doing that?

Well stars has a few satellites, they weren't running when I looked this morning but might be starting soon. The main event is £500+60 and from what I see there are some £44 satellites, with £2 rebuy satellites into the £44 one.

I previously thought that in order to create a £ account you would have to deposit more money, but you don't! You can convert any $ you already have on Stars into £.

Edit: Just checked and there's a £2 rebuy starting at 3:32pm, another at 5:32pm, and then at 6:32pm there is a £1.50 rebuy.

Not sure what i'm doing today but if I'm around I might play one of them.

Ah nice. I may try to convert the few dollars that remain in my Stars account to a UKIPT seat. 8-)

Also, I had an idea earlier. To welcome Sykes back, how about we all play a $4.40 $5.50 together on Sunday evening around 7pm? This will also give me a chance to try out HEM which I will be buying tomorrow. 8-)

I'll also be able to see everyone's screens thanks to my new PC/monitor. 8-)

Finished 7th in a £2 satellite, top 4 was a £44 seat.

Trying the $1.50 rebuy now to see if I can do better...

Playing $1 SnGs is the most infuriating thing ever. People will play most hands, chase everything down inspite of the odds and somehow against me they seem to hit some shitty two-pair/3-outer. Making it impossible to move up the stakes.

Ok guys. I'm a bit of a rookie at poker (to the extent of having to have the rules beside me when playing).

Tomorrow I'm playing poker with a few mates. Only for about a tenner.

Any tips?

Q-10 and K-10 aren't as great as some think. Don't play rubbish hands just because they're suited.

If people are playing loose play tight. If they're playing tight play loose. When you open do it for a raise don't limp.

Just keep it simple and play good starting hands. Whenever you have a made hand, bet it.
