I haven't played any poker for a while now thanks to lack of internet but hopefully my internet will all be up and running in the next few days. I was just checking my emails at a free wifi spot and noticed this form pokerstars:
PokerStars Tournament #176276695, No Limit Hold'em
Freeroll
10480 players
$100000.00 USD added to the prize pool by PokerStars
Total Prize Pool: $100000.00 USD
Tournament started 2009/08/02 19:00:00 WET [2009/08/02 14:00:00 ET]

Dear satriales3,

You finished the tournament in 3951st place. A USD 8.00 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

Congratulations!

Thank you for participating.

Considering I was sat out the whole time that's actually not too bad :D
Did anyone actually play that freeroll? If sitting out gets you $8 it can't have been too difficult to get good money.

PokerStars wrote:50% Reload Bonus

* How Do I Qualify for a Deposit Bonus?
* You are eligible for a 50% deposit bonus when you make a real money deposit at PokerStars before 23:59 ET 14th August 2009 and use the code WCOOP. You can then make two further deposits within 90 days to ensure you qualify for as much bonus as possible up to a maximum of $300 of bonus.

If you cash out any amount from your PokerStars account during the Bonus Period, but prior to making a qualifying deposit, you are ineligible for the deposit bonus.

Please remember that bonus offers expire and you must earn the required VPPs before the expiration date to earn your bonus. To check when your bonus expires, click the Cashier button in your PokerStars game software, and then click the button that reads "Check My Bonus Status."
* Where Can I See My Bonus?
* Once you make a deposit, you can view your pending bonus in the cashier window in the PokerStars software. The number of VPPs you must earn to collect the bonus can also be found there. To view these items, click on the 'Cashier' button. Once in the cashier window, simply click the button labelled "Check My Bonus Status."
* How Do I Earn My Bonus?
* To earn your deposit bonus you must earn a designated number of VPPs. The amount VPPs you must earn, and the maximum bonus you may earn, may vary by promotion. For the purposes of this promotion, you need to earn 25 VPPs for every dollar of bonus.
o Example 1 – If you make a $600 deposit you would get a 50% pending bonus (of $300). If the VPPs requirement was 25x you would need to earn 7,500 VPPs (25 x 300) to release the bonus.

Example 2 – You make a $100 deposit. You get a pending 50% bonus of $50 max. This will require 1250 VPPs to clear. If you then made another $100 deposit within the bonus period ($50 bonus) you would get another $50 bonus that would clear after you clear the first $50.
o VPPs which count toward the bonus requirement begin with the first hand played after the deposit is made to your account.

After the required number of post-deposit VPPs have been earned, the bonus will move from "pending status" into your PokerStars cash balance. PokerStars will send you an email confirming that the bonus funds have been moved to your cash account. The transaction will also be noted in your 'transaction history' in the Cashier window.

Note: Only your Base FPPs will be applied toward releasing your pending bonus. Base FPPs are FPPs earned through cash games and tournaments at the same rate as regular FPPs but do not include the Bonus points earned during the accelerated VIP period. Any bonus FPPs you earn through the VIP Club will not count toward releasing your bonus. Visit Free Online Promotions and Freerolls and learn how to earn Base FPPs.

Good luck, and thanks for playing on PokerStars lol

A few notes.
You can deposit 3 seperate times for the bonus, so that it's cleared in smaller chunks, however if you withdraw before your final bonus deposit then that's it. If you want the full bonus but not to have $600 in there you can withdraw it after a few days. This has been confirmed by a PokerStars rep on twoplustwo.

I'd advise anybody here to deposit 3 times, as you have 6 months to clear the bonus and you're all probably as impatient as I am, so you don't want to wait 3 months, right?

Rakeback > this bonus. For those that play on stars I'm sure it's all cool news though. Just be realistic and make sure you clear. Start off with a smaller amount IMO. Do something like 50 first and see how it takes.

This evening I am moving into Aaron's house so I will have proper internet without constant disconnects (I hope!) which will result in me grinding out a considerable amount of HU SNG per day. I think I will try for 20?

ESPN Schedule for 2009 WSOP Announced

In a media guide released prior to the start of the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP), the television schedule for the prestigious tournament series on ESPN was unveiled. A total of four events will be televised.

The action gets underway on Tuesday, July 28th at 8:00pm ET with a two hour review of the $40,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament. The event is aimed to commemorate the 40th running of the WSOP, which makes its home at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This special tournament is expected to bring out the world’s most popular poker stars, setting the stage for the rest of the television schedule. Last year, the $10,000 World Championship of Pot Limit Hold’em kicked off ESPN’s coverage, with Full Tilt Poker pro Nenad Medic winning his first bracelet.

On August 4th, the following Tuesday, the WSOP Champions Invitational will air on ESPN at 8:00pm ET and run for two hours. Norman Chad and Lon McEachern will once again provide commentary on the spectacle. Poker News Daily Guest Columnist and “Celebrity Apprentice” candidate Annie Duke, who won $2 million for her efforts and bested fellow Ultimate Bet pro Phil Hellmuth heads-up, won the 2004 WSOP Tournament of Champions. Mike Matusow took down the 2005 installment, defeating Hoyt Corkins heads-up, while World Poker Tour Host Mike Sexton outlasted Daniel Negreanu in 2006, the last year the event was run. The 2009 Champions Invitational is a freeroll that is open to all past WSOP Main Event winners. Its victor will receive the Binion Cup along with a new car.

On August 11th from 8:00pm ET to 10:00pm ET, the Ante Up for Africa tournament will hit television airwaves. The $5,000 buy-in contest is held just before the Main Event and helps raise money and awareness for the crisis in Darfur. Ante Up for Africa was founded by Duke, actor Don Cheadle, and Norman Epstein and has raised over $2 million for the cause over the past two years. In 2007, a total of $700,000 was raised from the inaugural WSOP Ante Up for Africa tournament. Brandon Moran and Dan Shak, who finished first and second, respectively, donated their entire winnings to the non-profit. In 2008, John Hennigan and Michael DeGusta (who finished first and second) also donated their cash prizes. Others in the field last year included Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Ray Romano, Brad Garrett, Jerry Cantrell, and Casey Affleck.

Starting on August 18th, the Main Event will air every Tuesday night on ESPN. Each of the four starting days will receive its own two hour block of coverage over four consecutive weeks. Day 2A and Day 2B will air on September 15th and 22nd, respectively. Each of the remaining days of play in the 2009 WSOP Main Event will play out over the course of one week, culminating in the final table, which will air on Tuesday, November 10th. The “November Nine” will once again experience a 100 day delay in the final table playing out. Last year, ESPN television ratings boomed by 50% as a result. There are 31 episodes of WSOP coverage in total. Beginning on October 13th, they will kick off at 9:00pm ET.

In an interesting twist, the final table will play down from nine players to two on Saturday, November 7th. Once two players remain, play will pause for another three days, resuming on Tuesday, November 10th, just before the final table will air on ESPN. The $50,000 HORSE Championship will not be seen this year on ESPN. In 2008, Scotty Nguyen infamously won the prestigious tournament while allegedly under the influence. His verbal abuse of tablemates and floor staff challenged ESPN editors. In the end, Nguyen took home nearly $2 million for the victory and the ceremonial Chip Reese trophy.

Yeah. I do think that it was a bad play on his part, so deep at that stage with so many blinds left, totally unnecessary. I was disappointed he didn't win. Glad that the Russian did though as Haxton's HU play was strawberry floating atrocious.

Yeah if Haxton won HU that would of been horrible the Russian was always ahead when it went all-in.

On a HU rage fest today. Sucking out all over the place. Played Drum HU on stars 4 times and won them all despite getting it in worse most of the time. Currently standings 4-1 :P

Then saw I had $4 in my account so play some HU SNG. Won 4/5. Best was 83s and flop comes 456 all spades. We get AI and he has KQs. River. 2s. LOL.

Hopefully this luck continues into tonight when I play for bigger moneys.

Works out at 20% RB at the best site which is good enough for me. You must have missed the fact you only need to let the money sit in your account for a couple of days before withdrawing it too. :P

HU SNG's are the work of the devil. Move back to Stars, Multitable grind 4.40s like mad, ???, Profit!

Just a bit of bad luck Jebus. Same thing happened to me last night. I lost 4 in a row despite getting AI pre with the best hand each time. One was insane. HU SNG. 1300 chips for me to 1700 chips for him. AI pre with KK. He CALLS the AI with T7s. Makes a flush. But then I went on to win my next 4? Just ups and downs of poker. :(

EDIT: Good start to the day. Been fish hunting.

Image

8 in a row atm. COME ON STREAK RECORD. Also been keeping vids of the ones I've played today if anyone is interested. They are silent though since I am feeling a little under the weather atm. Might be speaking in ones this evening though.#

EDIT: 9.

EDIT: NOOOO streak over. Played great again though. Got him down to 500 and AI my KA vs his 97. Thought it was gg but nooo. Got AI twice more ahead and he won both. Poo.

EDIT: Now on tilt and lost loads in a row. See Jebus! Ups and downs!

Oh well double post. Roll stands at £680. I think I am going to ban myself from superturbos. I ran my tourneys through HEM and it says I'm way below EV. Sure I run bad way more often than good. >_>

Played in WkdSOP last night which is "Weekend Series Of Poker" for Warwick people. Basically they cannot cope without playing poker and the banter over summer so play on stars, on a Thursday now though, and not a weekend. Private tournies, much like GRSOP will be then. We play 3 events, NLHE, 8 game and HU. I won the HU, 3rd in 8 game and last in HE. 8-)

Puts me joint second in the leaderboard after the first week. :D

Going to play more HU today. Someone else talk to me. :(
