Well done. Accidentally registering for tournaments is definitely +EV.

 So true Sat ;)

Pacman, although i'm not encouraging you on a regular basis to buy-in at higher levels but I will often take a shot at a high buy-in as long as it isn't above 25% of my roll or if I can satellite in.

Its refreshing playing the higher buy-in tournies and you often find there can be just as much dead money in them as the low stake ones.

Sadly I'm back on nights again for the next few months so I'll be missing GRSOP again this year (or at least most of it) :(.

Someone put this video up on Facebook so I thought I'd share:

His cards were face up, but he didn't know the other guy also had a full house did he? Still some pretty stupid plays anyway

The guy with 99 plays it pretty poorly throughout. He should re-re-raise on the flop for sure. He knows that he's not losing his man with top pair, top kicker. The river shove is stupid of course, seeing as it is pretty impossible to represent J9 or 22. He wouldn't bet out with AJ for the chop. He probably wouldn't even call pre with AJ when another AJ is exposed.

I'm currently playing the most ridiculous game of poker I've ever played. It's a 6 seater SNG where the buy-in is £1 and the top three players win £2 - "double your money". But the table is so tight that you'd think the stakes were twenty times that... chip leaders are folding to minimum bets and pretty much the only two people involved in hands are the blinds and occasionally the dealer (well, button). I loosened up my usual tight play to take advantage and was winning literally every hand no problem, then I got a bit cocky and all-in'd someone holding AA... but here's where it gets better... that silly move had left me with 150 chips when everyone else was on 2000, 3000... I should have been out, right? I went "all in" with a mediocre hand and EVERYONE folded to me! I'm seriously you guys. I've now crawled my way back up to second to the chip leader. On the one hand this kind of table is easy money; but on the other hand it isn't poker.

I don't know much about them games (I hate them) but I think playing very tight is generally considered the best strategy as it's all about survival rather than winning chips.

True but when everyone is playing tight the best strategy is surely to play loose. I think the biggest differentiating factor then becomes how much £1 is "worth" to each person at the table. Since wealth is relative, so someone who values £1 higher will be at a disadvantage to someone who doesn't really care if they lose it and is therefore able to play more loosely. Kind of funny, really. I can see why you hate them though, it was a pretty boring game.

Double your money SNG's are very boring and I find they take too long which to me means I have to play about 6 at once or more for it to be worth my while.

So I like to play the 13$ Turbo's with just top 2 been paid as it suits my style.

I think Stars has smaller stake turbo sng's.

I've set all of the GRSOP events up on Home Game with the exception of the main event (apparently you can't schedule a game in excess of 30 days).

Check out my YouTube channel!

You should read up on the other games, they're a lot of fun. Either way you won't be much worse than the rest of us at them.

Will do when I can consistently win at Hold'em ring games (atm I'm in a cycle of winning money in SnGs then losing it in ring games) :(
