Only at the $2 games eh?

I cashed in my final game but only 3rd. One donk pissed me off so much. I was chip leading at bubble. I'm in a hand with him and he is middle stacked and there is a v short stack. He bets out into this pot and I put him all in with 3rd pair. He snap calls with 2nd pair. Seemed a bit dodge to me. I can knock him out and he can cash once the other guy is out.

So we make it to final 3. I am middle, there is a short and he is deep. Button folds. He completes the SB. I shove for 3k with QJ since he just completed (he has 7k) and he snap calls with K3o and wins the hand. Just seems utterly retarded. My range there is pretty narrow to him as there is a shorter stack. I know he completes with trash often so I pushed to build my stack. Oh well, only down like $60 for the session instead of $90ish. Still not going to play at all tomorrow. My roll is around $2650 now. Still 100 buyins I suppose!

I was running great in a 1$ tourney a few minutes ago, when I was at the bubble and called someone all in. He had Kings, me Queens - he hit quads on the flop. I got down to the last three, but then my trip eights got hit by trip Kings on the river

Been working on a new micro-roll, up from 3$ to 17$, but now back down to $15 after going out in 5th twice. On one, I went all in with top pair, only for the guy to call me with two overcards and make it on the river. On the other, I had A3 in BB, got A3 at the flop, he called with QJ (I heart, 1 diamond), and he hit a river flush

That's $52 profit jhttp://www.grcade.com/index.phpust for those two tournaments :D

Thanks, most players were very poor I just had to wait a while for some good hands and it was easy to double up. There was one hand where I got very lucky though I had KQ and the flop was T J K, I called an all-in by someone with aces but I managed to hit another K on the river.

This is the sharkscope graph of the guy who came second:

Those two tourneys gave a nice little boost to my sharkscope graph:

It's at $170 now, it would be a bit more but I played a couple of $8 tournaments and didn't cash. I also had a small losing session with the $5 SnG's as shown on the graph above. I think I lost two in a row, then I played another 4 and only came 3rd in one of them.
I've still got a $50 bonus too when I reach 500FPP (currently just over 200).

Hi all, I'm looking at maybe getting in to a bit of online Poker. Firstly, is it possible to make any kind of money on a regular basis? I'm not after loads but maybe the equivalent of about £5 per hours worth of play? I have a bit of experience in real life poker and usually come in the top 3 out of 8. Secondly, where is the best place to play? I'm looking for places that are doing joining offers and things like that so I can get something to start me up.

Thanks.

We all play at PokerStars.

As for making money, yeah it's quite possible to make that sort of cash but it's largely dependant on the stakes you're prepared to play. For example, if your first deposit is $50 then ideally to maintain your bankroll you'd be looking at $0.02/0.05 cash tables and $3 Sit and Go (knockout).

We will be glad to assist you if you have any questions, so don't hesitate to ask! :D

Nice. I have most of the day off tomorrow so I'll give it a go. It'll be cool to play with some of you guys at some point too. In the whole three year I've been here I've never played an online game of anything with someone from this forum.

Hey new member :P Don't listen to me, I keep losing money.

Secondly, you can certainly earn £5/hour if you are prepared to put in the work. You don't become a good poker player overnight and in almost all cases people who think they are good because they can beat their mates etc, are not. Not intended to cause offense at all but there is most likely plenty you can learn :) The best way to learn is to listen and view others playing IMO.

You may want to consider what you want to play. You can play cash games, single table tournaments or multitable though I would advise against the latter. Cash and STT are the way to go for low stakes and they are quite simple to beat. :)

As per yesterday's post I played 0 games today and I feel refreshed. Tomorrow though I have 0 lectures so the evening may turn into a bit of a grind!

Thanks. I wasn't expecting to be earning instantly so I'll probably start with some real low stakes just to get a feel for the game without losing too much dollar. I have played online briefly before (PartyPoker I think) but only on the free games where no one really played with any strategy.

Last night was horrible. I played four games and suffered bad beats in each one.

1) AQ. I raise, and the total donk who was destroying everyone calls. Flop comes 67Q. I check raise all-in and he calls with Q8. Turn is an 8. If my hand had held up I'd have been quite a comfortable second at that point as there were six left.

2) I am sitting in second place with four remaining. I raise with AK. A stack almost even shoves and I call. He shows A8. I flop the absolute nuts straight. River is a K to split the pot. A little while later I ended up having to push with 55 and I was called by JJ. If that pot hadn't been split I'd have probably won.

3) At the bubble on another table with big blind I again raise with AK. The big stack then sees fit to come over the top of me and he is a fish. I call putting me all in and he flips over AJ. River is a J.

I can't remember the fourth but basically I get it in way ahead and still end up losing. :(

I did finish second in a game I played much later, taking $13.50 (excluding my $5 buy in) to reduce the damage somewhat, but I really want to move up the stakes and it's annoying knowing that realistically I am better than the majority of my opposition but I'm not getting the results. I would have cashed in all of those if my hands held up.

*sigh*

Played a few Play money games earlier - came out with double what I went in with which isn't bad, although I could have walked away with quadruple. I'm assuming the level of play for real money will be higher though but I think I might go straight in to it as I wasn't really getting much of a buzz from the play money games.

My name is Harvester12.

Yeah, the standard at play money is pretty terrible as nobody really cares. The standard at micro stakes is better but you still do see some crazy things.

Not yet played today. Will start later. Any requests for vids? I might make another. I can do up to 4 tables and up to $50+5 games though I'd rather not do 4 55's as it's pretty hard to even get 4 going at times, let alone fishy ones. I can even do some real cheap ones if you like?

IMO $3. Don't mess around videoing with big stakes. I don't feel I need it but it's always appreciated.

I've played (and won) my first table for the day.
