Aww that sucks.

I've had enough of the old not playing. I stuck £70 into this Virgin (which seems to have the shittest software ever lol, and where's the colour?!) and I'm 4 tabling £10NL. 5 handed seems interesting.

Thanks Rex. How's the software, does it slow down much with a few tables? Much traffic?

You could of got away from that Psychic....

When it gets to the third raise you've got to be thinking 'hang on a minute'....

The straight AND flush is out, both possible holdings that smash your hand into the ground....

It's a fair point but I don't agree. The guy was playing close to 70% of his hands and could have hit the flop in a large number of ways. Admittedly his min-raise looks strong but given he'd been at the table about 5 minutes, I can't really read too much into it. The big mistake on my part was the min-raise misclick. Had I raised to around $1.20 like I intended to, the rest would have been much simpler.

BTW, I had an idea earlier. Nova asked me to throw together a few guidelines for cash games but as I sit here looking at the meagre portion of wisdom I've written, I thought; "Why should I do this?"

I don't mean this in a bad way, while I always enjoy inflicting my horrible prose upon the world I always felt that the best way to learn anything in poker was not from a few lines memorised but to question why and see what works for everyone. So I feel there are two better ways for us all to help each other progress.

1) We all set a calender, in which there's a week or so where we discuss the best way to play situations and formats of the game. (One week we'd discuss how to play in the early levels of tournaments, another on how exploit bad players at the table etc)

2) Alternatively, we could continue with the idea of writing advice, except expand it. Each regular poker threader contributing making it a cheap Super System perhaps? :P

Let me know what you guys think.

I like both ideas actually, Sykes, as long as everyone is up for contributing a little. Can even get in some guest writers :P

Suggestion I maybe setup a mini GR Poker site?

It would be easier to reffer to rather than a thread.

It could be just like a blog ?

We all post suggestions for tourney and cash play etc ?

Setting a mini site or something similar seems rather pointless because it's easy enough in this thread to do those things, you could index everything in the first post. If you don't want to then I'm sure someone else doesn't mind doing it.

Any news on the GRSOP?

Yeah I guess it could be indexed.

GRSOP

I'm looking at it starting it in May its going to run like a mini league similar to the LPPL.

I need suggestions for stakes that people would be willing to play at ?

I guess we could run it with play money if need be and sort out a prize pool seperatly.

It will last 2 months so it will be 9 games and would just replace the Matrix slot.

I was thinking about having it 1 week of NL and the next PLOH unless people would rather just have NL.

Any suggestions?

I'm going to update the 1st post now apologies for the lack of updates i've just been really busy.

Biggest cash to date: £470 - 1st in The Isle Casino Coventry £20+2 freezeout (11/04/09)
If you prefer cash or tourney poker: 50/50
Fave Poker player: Tom Dwan - So interesting to watch
Fave Poker site: Pokerstars
Your Poker Face: 8-)

For GRSOP just have mega cheap so everyone can play. Not play money though, I won't bother most likely if it is.

I don't see much point in making "guides" as such. Nobody here is good enough to write a guide AND if you want one there are plenty available online for 6max cash anyway. They might not all be tailored to small stakes but they make sense. I think the best way to improve your game is to simply post hands you think you played badly and discuss them.

If someone really wants help with 6max mega low stakes cash I am willing to watch you play for an hour. All you need is some screen beaming software which is free and easy to use then I can see what you see. It might be a quick way to highlight mistakes. I cannot guarentee it would be perfect but I can beat 10NL :P I might also ask for half of the profit you make to cover my time! (It will be worthit if you learn something for the long run right? :P)

Also I am going to win the matrix tonight. Can I make a special request that it starts ON TIME since I have an exam tomorrow and I really need to be revising.

To be honest I doubt it will go ahead unless more people show interest. As it stands it'd just be the two of us.

Bankroll boosted to $300 :D

Playing 6$ over on PartyPoker at the moment. Fairly ridiculous rake but cashing so consistently it's worth it. I had a great chance to win a couple though and just played the HU way too fast. Gotta work on that.

Just played some cash...

I didn't run badly for once! No massive pocket pairs but I was making some small profit when this happened:

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Proper Zing [Qc As]
Proper Zing: raises $0.20 to $0.30
alohaheee: folds
tiltproof24: calls $0.30
45donkey: folds
reaperman88: raises $2.75 to $3.05 and is all-in
mimiro78: folds
Proper Zing: calls $2.75
45donkey leaves the table
tiltproof24: calls $2.75
*** FLOP *** [Qd 4d Qs]
Proper Zing: bets $7.20 and is all-in
tiltproof24: calls $7.20
*** TURN *** [Qd 4d Qs] [Td]
*** RIVER *** [Qd 4d Qs Td] [3h]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
Proper Zing: shows [Qc As] (three of a kind, Queens)
tiltproof24: mucks hand
Proper Zing collected $13.70 from side pot
reaperman88: mucks hand
Proper Zing collected $8.80 from main pot

I was as surprised as anyone to find that I'd won - my head dropped when that third diamond hit the deck. Small guy had Jacks and the guy who called my all in had Sevens.
