Certainly was a good run DML and supports your idea that you are best at HU. The trouble with large ring tournaments are you really do have to wait a while sometimes for good hands. If you don't get any either you have to start playing trash to get anywhere. I find this damn hard since I am a very tight aggressive player. The best tournaments for me are 6 handed ones because I just use similar ranges to cash games and then alter them as chip stacks dictate. Perhaps you should try some HU Sit and Go and see how you get on?

I'm the same Rex I do well at 6 handed as the hand values increase but like to mix it up with full ring games.

Yes it's all very well but I seem to always get caught out when I get involved with a marginal hand. :(

You guys seem to be running pretty good in tournies though so no reason why not to continue!

Well I've found what I think is a great format.

I'm playing on Dusk Til Dawns poker software and they run double Your Money SnG's

So its £5.50 to play and you win a £10 for coming 1st 2nd or 3rd and its only 6 handed.

So far I've played 4 and cashed in all 4, 3 were £5 and one was a £20.

I play pretty tight and simple A B C poker and it seems to works fine but play does get tight when it gets to 4 handed.

Also blinds increase every 12 hands which is cool so people can't take ages to force the short stacks out.

Are you rolled for £100NL HU? What site was this?

Pretty sick hand. You're only a slight fav from the flop though interestingly. Any reason why you didn't raise pre? I think £12 to all in is probably not the best play at flop but gj!

I wasn't rolled for it i went in by mistake and thought what the heck lets play a few hands.

I was one on one as two people were away so I wanted to pay it trappy and I kinda got bored with the raise re-raise etc so pushed and didnt think he would call.

Oh right, got a bit lucky then! Was this also on DTD? The rake is quite small is why I ask. Is that because there was only action at the flop? I just assumed it was due to HU, which it wasn't.

I also missed your post on DYM tables. I know a few people who play them. At the lower stakes they are very fishy and playing tight can pay off but like regular SnG the standard of play becomes much better as you move up and the games take AGES. I've played some reasonably expensive ones and it becomes so luck based at the blinds begin to represent so much of your stacks. On time 6 handed we reached 500/1000 blinds which is a piss take frankly. I think the tournament structure is just quite bad on the crypto DYM tables but if it's working for you then gl. May just be variance though. My friend played 11 and cashed in 10. The next week he lost most of it in a similar fashion. Don't you also find the traffic on DTD is quite low for these?

I assume you also have rakeback at DTD?

From what I gather on here most people have a full tilt account. Some have party poker and the rest consists of just a few smaller sites. I play only on William Hill poker on the cryptologic network. If you are wanting to play with other GRcaders and have fun the IMO full tilt, if you want to be making large some of money, then it depends what your style of play is and what game you play.

If you DO sign up to anywhere though make sure you get a rakeback account first.

Well tonight is do or die poker for me potentially.

After two months of hard graft and three wins, my regional final status is now in the balance as I now have to commute to London all week to do a last minute job, scuppering my poker hopes as I wont be able to play during the week. So a hastily chosen game in a venue I dont normally attend will be the venue for the game that decides if I go to the Regional game again. Gah, and bloody gah.

I didn't open a rakeback account when I opened my FullTilt account, is there anything I can do now?

Played with some friends yesterday. Only a £3 buy in for a £18 winner-takes-all, but it was a good laugh.

Even better laugh when you end up £15 up of course 8-)
