I have 99 problems but the poker ain't one! Hit me!

In other words, I had a few cents spare, fancied trying some stud poker, and rolled it up.

EDIT - And I will be playing less. Trust me. More concentration on live poker.

Ah ok, do you have HEM as well or is there another way of getting these stats up on Pokerstars?

Nova in losing a hand shocker!

Jebus great news. I hope play is going well. I'm personally under EV again today buy a buyin. 8-) I did however get £41 in rakeback lol.

Sykes I just don't like cbetting enough with hands like that. I find I lose money.

Also your hand isn't this like the most obv raise? AA,KK,QQ,AK are the top hands in poker. Why on earth are you not wanting to get some more moneys in preflop and isolate? I raise a tonne of things there that are significantly worse than AK to get it HU and so they check the flop and I have control from there on.

Made £6 at pokersoc today playing random limit cash games. Razz, stud hi/low etc.

Y'gonna build yourself a miniroll? You could easily build it up from $16. :)

PsychicSykes wrote:Now, I'm going to post a hand I just played and I want you guys to help me figure out the right way to play it and we can compare it to how I actually did.

RAISE it up like tuff_fish. Probs to around $1.40. I want to be getting as much money in as possible with such a strong hand.

Good to see that Drummy, downloading it now.

For any of you who use Twitter, here's a page with links to players who are twittering (Tweeting?) through the WSOP.

As for the hand, obviously it was a raise, I was just checking whether you guys were actually paying attention. :P I went with the large raise because 1) I wanted to get heads-up where my hand strength is magnified and 2) I want to get more money in the pot.

Well, this fella isn't overly aggressive, looking at what stats you said he had, and he was limp calling quite a lot. Quite how he made such a huge stack is a mystery to me, if you play like that, unless you catch actual monsters.

Anyway, you'd have to bet here. You have position and you've told the man you have a monster hand. A continuation bet is a pretty standard move here, for me. I'd lead out with about $2.50 to $3. I think maybe you pumped the pot too much preflop, there's no need to bet 5x his bet, as normally you'd get the same result for 3/4 times and your cont bet could be smaller.

Ideally you want to win all hands that go to showdown at the minute I'm winning 1 in 2 hands that go to showdown I'm wondering how that compares to everyone else?

Do you have a graph? I'm not sure what mine is, but I am winning most of my showdowns at the moment, but that tends to be because I have the lock (or very close to it) hand when I commit.

Turned rough start to the week around to tiny $5 profit after the total 3 hours of play, after making $48 in 40 minutes 8-)

Made a couple of delicious check-raises, but best hand was this one:

I had him on that sort of hand, and he'd been betting/raising me all the way down, so an all in is the right thing to do there, right?

5 dollars became 68 dollars tonight on 0.05/0.10 cash!

I went for a wee from my six max table, and whilst I was gone everyone chose to leave!

Also, fourth in the first game of the new LPPL season. Good day. I've taken most of my roll out, but kept twenty dollars so I can see if I can roll up again!

Seems fine Nova, I don't really like raising the flop there because it let's him play perfectly every time. Might have stopped off at value town on the river but all in all looks good.

Drummy Video:
7 mins or so, JT bet on the turn 4 way when the flush comes and you make top pair. Do not like. You have showdown value now but if you bet the majority of worse hands will fold and if they have a flush, well, you saw what happened.

14 mins: 66 when you turn the FH. Raise! You have the second nuts here and he is probably going to stack off with all overpairs to the board, so not raising and some point made me feel quite ill.

20 mins: Fold w/AA on the turn. Bit of a tricky one. What range of hands do think he calls pre then flop before raising turn with?

22 mins: No, no, no. Please do not min-raise 3 bet. Your goals for 3betting are either to take the hand down, gain momentum in the hand or build a pot and min-raising does none of these. It just leaves you out of position with KQ in a pumped up pot. $1.20 is the minimum you should be raising here unless you have some sort of dynamic going on with the villain.

23 mins: And with 99 too. This isn't as bad because you have position but the same rules apply. WP w/the AK hand, even though he had TP and meant you could only draw to your King pair-wise, you're still only a 45% dog or thereabouts.

25 mins: The 3 bet from the SB w/AT is too small again. Maybe check-raise here in future as a bluff? You can't really keep 3-betting then checking when you miss otherwise they will take the pot away over and over, and will refuse to pay you when you hit IMO.

In general I think you'd be better off making your post flop bets bigger too, but the majority was solid.

Downloading vid now.

Sykes cbet 2/3.

Also you lose loads of showdown hands where someone limps your BB and you check it down. My win % atm is only 32 but I have been running pretty bad atm. I think you have to remember you can lose small pots at the showdown fine as long as you win bigger ones. So I win 1 in 3 apparently.

Finished my exams, so going to watch all the videos tomorrow.

I decided to play a couple of tourneys tonight after an unsuccessful cash session. Played really badly in a 5$ Rebuy (I'm useless at rebuy tourneys), but won a 27-man $11, helping me squeeze past 1300$

Too tired to actually comment much, but I'm pretty sure that I said during the shaky five minutes I have from 20 onwards I was on the phone and it's difficult when hands are hitting you at just the wrong time so keep that in mind.

Oh, and I flopped the FH.

Apologies. I was looking at went to showdown % slayer. I win 52% @ showdown but point still stands. As long as you lose small pots but win big ones there is nothing wrong. :)

Well, I feel physically ill. I'd just lost AA to 88 for a big pot against this idiot, who calls all three bets (earlier 3 bet me with A7 and won the pot against my AK), and then I get Queens:
