Ha I'd only do it for a big prop bet, otherwise I cba with 10nl. I might play £20nl though here and there this summer. The plan is still to try and grind out the main ijoker MTTs. Had a couple big scores yesterday but lots of lost buyins to bring it back down. Lost a couple big flips.

I totally don't play well in $55 aments. That's more like Ecno territory. I think I do ok $20 but 50 is hard stuff. Also you are a good cash game player. At least everytime you come to me with something you are thinking way better than me. Honestly it is a mystery why you haven't beaten the stakes yet. Keep going because I am sure you will.

Playing some ijoker tonight. Mumble if anyone is interested, else I will just grind Dexter at the same time. (Aaron also on mumble grinding). (When I say mumble I mean not GR mumble, steam me/msn/PM if you want info).

How big a prop bet? :shifty:

What are these Mumble details? Not sure my mic's working given that my whole laptop is nearly on the fritz but worth a shot.

PS: I'll ship you the monies for the inthread compliment later. :P

We use a TF2 mumble for poker talk rather than the GR one.

If you steam me I can set you up.

What do I do here? I had only just moved to the table so no reads. The plan was to check-raise the turn but his overbet caught me by surprise. :?

What a time for GR to go down!

Belated boasts - I have come 1st and 2nd in the 3.30 180-man rebuy on Stars in the last three days for a total of around £500.

Awesome!

Edit: I just been looking at what to spend my FPP points on and was originally planning to buy the $300 bonus for 25000fpp, but I just seen that you can get a £250 ($408) Amazon voucher for 26800fpp, so that works out much better value (65fpp per $ rather than 83fpp per $).

I never know how to play AK, should I just be getting this in pre-flop, or even folding to his 4bet?

I know nothing about the guy he has only sat at the table for 5 hands and not done anything too stupid. It was his small 4bet that made me suspicious and so I decided to just call.
Of course after the flop everything is beating me now and so I take the free card and hope for a ten but against randoms is it an automatic shove preflop?

I don't think getting AKs in preflop w/effective stacks of 100BB can ever be that big a mistake. Obviously you're not going to be in great shape if he has AA/KK but your hand makes that less likely. If you're planning on playing for a while too, getting AK in here should get other aggressive opponents happier to stack off lighter in situations like this with hands like JJ/TT knowing that AK is a definite part of your range. I would probably shove here, but I am terrible at cash so feel free to disregard this post.

Out of interest, how much studying and reading did you guys do before you started playing properly? How much studying do you still do?

I'm trying to build a roll from a very modest $50 playing low stakes SnGs. Playing on WH and finding it pretty crappy with a poor selection of games. Any suggestions as to where I should move?

I still seem to be pretty aimless, if I'm being honest. Putting the stuff that I'm reading into practice during an actual game is harder than I thought it would be. Maybe I'm reading the wrong stuff.

This is how I originally started. PokerStars offers the largest selection of games and buy ins, so that your best bet.

With regards to reading, not a lot. When I was originally taught the game I took the values I originally learned and slowly developed my game independently, still am. I don't really get too much time to play though these days and am more interested in playing live.
