Nope. I played 1$, 3$ and 5$ SnGs when I was starting out, not playing cash. I've only been playing poker for a year now but I started with 1$ and I think I played at those stakes for a good few months. I was on 3$ for pretty much the rest of the time  Stick in 50$, play 3$ and try to win 1 in 4 to breakeven, and then move to $150 when you can shift up to 5$ SnGs.

If you don't stick a bankroll in and persist even when running badly, you won't get anywhere unfortunately. Good luck! I know you might not have the money atm but don't go pissing away what you do have!

Roll is at an all-time high. 8-)

Goldomov, Oblincense and Myrrhblomov wrote:That's the thing, you see, I'm not really going for bankroll management at the moment. I feel like I'm still very much learning and I'm looking at these games as experience. I really don't feel like you can play properly at low stake levels as there are just so many people who don't know what they're doing. I think once I get a job I'll slap a decent amount in and really look to play by the rules.

That's fair enough. If you're just looking to spin it up playing for experience; and therefore the money doesn't especially matter to you, it's fine. Obviously once you wish to start building a bankroll though you'll have to play within your means otherwise you'll go bust very quickly.

Low: Continually doing poor at cash games every time I take a shot at them.
High: Accidently registering for a $50 MTT and finishing 2/2000 for $11,500 8-)

High: Winning the first tourney I played at the Isle for £4XX and Aaron coming 5th. It was just so fun. I've had bigger cashes since but none as fun as that.

Low: I think the worst point for me was when my roll was reduced to ~£150 due to running horrendously bad at some HUSNG/HUcash. It was one of those points where I just felt like quitting for ages but then I won an online MTT and was back up to £600. From there cash raged it up again to over £1k.

I guess right now is a high as well even though I'm running so bad. I have something like £1900 when the rakerace and bonus come in. That's more than I thought I'd have at this point.

I've taken the advice in this thread and I'm going to stick with $1 games right the way down to the end of my roll.

Why is it that every time I get KQ someone goes all in before me?! Is this an acceptable hand to call an all in with? Obviously if he had a quarter of my stack or appeared to be moving in desperation I would, but I mean is it acceptable in general? I can't say it is for me.

Ugghhh. Just went out of a tournament I was doing fairly well in. I seem to keep getting knocked out to pocket pairs making a set; there doesn't appear to be any way to account for this.

No. If I push I do it with an Ace or a pocket pair and your an underdog to both unless you have pot odds to call or the blinds are huge compared to the stacks.

I would actually play the $3 games instead as the $1 games have 20% rake so they're really not worth playing.

I don't think the $1 games are ever worth playing and they are very hard to beat due to the rake, so if I don't have a roll for the $3 games then I will save up and deposit some more when I can afford it, or play under rolled knowing that I may need to deposit more later.

Good: Winning my first full MTT and captaining the Waterlooville Wolves to Southern Challenge Cup glory.

Bad: The end of the GR Series.

Good: My $4600 (ish) win on the day I finished my first year of Uni in the summer. It wasn't just the win, I felt I also played very well towards the end.

Bad: My constant removing and reinstating rolls. Next year I just want to build from this current $400, and see how far I can get!

Only Drumstick will get the

It is good though if you have rakeback you don't qualify as VIP so irrelevant to me. Works out at 20% RB though for those interested in playing some £££ tables and don't have RB.

The Good: I think I've finally worked out how to win money at micro 6 max cash games indefinitely. Playing some bigger buy in MTTs such as the Big Freeze and some miniFTOPs events

The Bad: Well losing alot not knowing what I was doing whilst thinking I was awesome after two consecutive cashes in MTTs for $40 and $220 just losing a hand to someone now for my stack which I should of folded when he had trip deuces after limping in and then calling a raise with 72s

THe UGLY: I tilt quite a bit mainly in the form of deviating from my six max cash game also squandering alot of money despite now I think about it cashing for over $600 in various tournaments. I have none of that left really.
