Yeah sniffer said. We are on TS if you wish to join us.

Also sexace, huuuuge bloody blue whale at the table is awesome. VPIP 42% and nearly 100 hands played now. K2 vs AA vs TT for his tourney life was the best.

How come you decided to play that hand? I'd be folding it the plague.

I wasn't sure whether I should be playing it or not but I was chipleader and even if I played and lost I would still be chipleader so figured there wasn't much risk but a fair chance of knocking out two players. I didn't expect either of them to have a decent hand so I was unlucky to run into AA but then got very lucky and made a straight.

Anyone else see this? http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-gossip/pokerstars-world-record-2nd-place-bust-670142/

The guy who came 2nd in the world record tourney winning $30,000 decided to play some high stakes cash games and lost it all in a day. He went from playing 0.01c tournaments a couple of weeks ago to $200/$400 cash games after his win, and in 37 hands he was down 35 buy-ins ($15k) :fp:

I looked up the guy who came 1st and he was also a losing player before his win, he was down about $4k.

That's ridiculous!

I'm playing 4 10$ SnGs atm, and still running under EV, as I have all month. Lost with a set vs a 4 flush, then AK vs AQ, then finally with JJ into AK. I was big stack a few times, but I kept losing my 60/40s and flush draws always came for the other player, but never for me, so meh. Almost -$130 in EV! I've only won $190

Well I've had some horrendous cards tonight. I played three tournaments and the best hand I had in any of them was A2d or ATo, whichever one you think is best. Most of my roll is now gone :(.

The thing with EV is once you are under it, you have a greater probability of staying under it. The further you are away, the less likely you are to return. Quite scary then for me! I am running $1384 under EV. That's more than most people here have for a roll. I find this v annoying but you just have to deal with it. There will be lots of variance over small samples of games. I intend to get to about 600 games this month and next month play a similar amount. Try and grind them out and in the long run things will be fine!

ATo.

How much? If you are losing most of your roll in a few tournaments you need to play lower stakes.

Came 27th in the big freeze for £150, £15 going to Aaron and Drumstick each. Was fairly meh towards the end.

Shame more people didn't get deeper in The Big Freeze, but well done Rex. Yeah fair enough. That graph is particularly epic too

Yeah everyone seemed to run into crap spots early on/get it in well ahead and lose. I just got lucky to spin it up. Back to the grind!

Well I lost with ATo and trebled up with A2d ;).

I shouldn't be complaining, really. I came to PokerStars as an absolute noob, deposited $20, built it up a little then lost it all; deposited another $20 and from that I've still got around $13 left after about two months of learning. I'm going to 3 table $4.40 SnG games and see what I'm left with. It'll be a shame if I lose it all as I really feel like I'm getting to be quite a good player, but I can't justify putting more money on here when I'm out of work and incapacitated.

This is your problem. With 13 dollars left you should either be playing $1 SNGs or 0.01/0.02 Cash games with a $2 buy in. Are these the 180 mans? If so you really need a bankroll of over $200 dollars minimum to be playing them.

Absolute minimum, really. If you want to multi-table them, a lot of people would recommend you having around $400. My variance has hit an epic high so I thought I'd stop for this month. I've moved from $150 to $400, so I can hardly complain, but I'll pick it up again after the important uni exams that are coming up.

EDIT - Not as epic as Rex's though :P

That's the thing, you see, I'm not really going for bankroll management at the moment. I feel like I'm still very much learning and I'm looking at these games as experience. I really don't feel like you can play properly at low stake levels as there are just so many people who don't know what they're doing. I think once I get a job I'll slap a decent amount in and really look to play by the rules.

Yeah I know, but I keep finding that I'll progress fairly well in a tournament by beating these not so great people 4/5 times, then I'll get sucked out on at some stage. I suppose I should be playing cash at this level, but I just prefer the feel of tournaments.

Which is why you need 50-100+ buyins to play MTTS.
