I'm continuing to try out 6 tabling 6-max Omaha, and after being up to $525 today, I've plummeted back to $440 after experiencing the sick variance that is PLO. I'll share the worst four with you, although I doubt it's a sensible thing to post, I just thought a couple of them were sick

It's good fun though, although you really do have to take a deep breath when the swings come in

I'm playing regular Omaha league games at the moment, two so far and I have come 5th and 4th. In a tournament structure, a big stack is so much more powerful it seems to me then Hold'Em, because you can more freely choose your battles. Its a really enjoyable game, I like it. I especially enjoyed making a bluff for all my chips on the turn realising I had next to no outs, but felt she couldn't call. Then looked at my cards and worked out I had precisely NO outs as she tanked! She folded. Would love to play a proper Omaha tournament, would be fun I reckon. I don't think I have won a single pot when I have had the A-A-x-x ye, even when double suited! I had A-A-6-5ds destroyed by K-J-7-5ss last week. Bah.

If someone wants to arrange an Omaha Home Game on Stars I'd be up for that.

I suck at cash. Please advise.

Fourth in Omaha game number three. Good result, but frustrating as I was the chip leader going into the final table, but I just stopped hitting from that point onwards. Small stacks kept like tripling up and stuff, if that hadn't have happened, maybe I could have got second/third - but as I am still in a learning process at the moment I'll be happy for now. I'm nearing Venue Champion for best overall results anyway.

That vid was amazing Sykes! I learnt a lot from it and picked up a new skill with the limp/min-raise squeeze

As it has now been shutdown if you are looking for a good starting point I would say micro stakes sit n gos on poker stars. They offer the best software, pretty good benefits system and highest traffic (also a poker school that will help you hone youre beginners game.

I currently play lower traffic European only site have gone from the ipoker network to party poker to WSOP software. These are probably more representative of your uni poker experience with multitable tournies with 50 to 200 players in on average.

For tips hints and hand analysis feel free to post hands here (without the final outcome) and if you check the front page you can see list upon list of strategy articles.

I can't remember many actual hands except one where I had KK and got most of his chips in on the turn of AAxx board. River is a jack and I get the last bit in, he has JJ.

I was down $70 at one point, which is only 3 buy-ins I suppose. Back up a bit now to $-43.

Oh, I just remembered how I lost a buy-in. Guy to my right was stealing from the BTN literally 100% of the time and whenever I 3bet him from the SB he would 4bet me. I decided to play back at him with A7s, he 4bets and I call. Flop is something like 932r so I'm pretty sure he hasn't hit and I bet just under pot which is about half my stack and commits me if he shoves. He does shove and so I call, he has AT and his kicker plays.

Edit: Just looking through my HEM I see another big pot I lost was with AA v 9Ts. Flop was KQJ but the pot was already big pre and he was just flat calling my bets so I didn't put him on two pair and assumed I was ahead. I probably should have got away from it though.

Back to profit now, thanks largely to a bit of run good when I got it in bad on the flop with QQ v AA and spiked a queen on the river.

It was 25NL, so was only 3 buy-ins down at the worst but got it all back in the end.

Down $200 today at 25NL.

I was down $250 at one point yesterday, but then managed to win $80 back right at the end. Then today I was up another $100 and things were looking good, but then suddenly in the space of about 50 hands I'm back down to $0.

Then I win my biggest pot yet at 25NL
So I've won back half of what I lost yesterday and my cash game experience is slowly getting better.

I think I mentioned this a while back but as it's pretty close I'm mentioning it again.

I am playing the £100 Freezeout on the Friday, and I'm considering the £300 event on Saturday/Sunday, however the only way I think I'd play the latter is if I can sell some action. I'm looking to keep about 30% of my own action, so if you're interested let me know and we can work something out.

I might sell some action on the £100 Freeze too.
