Quick question, I've got $18 in my PS account, 10 of which I'm saving for the ME. Would it be worth me playing $1 double or nothings to boost my role up to something where I can play $1 SnGs within my role? I've played about 5 or 6 and cashed all but one and I feel I'm generally a patient player so would it be something worth doing even if it will take a while?

The standard is probably so low that you can play then with such a low roll. 5/6 isn't a great sample but why not. If you think you can crush them then make money!

Going deepish in an Omaha tourny. Anything could go wrong yet, but so far so good. 12/97.

Did anyone else play in any of the WCOOP tournaments?
I just got an email from Pokerstars saying that everyone who took part can register for a $100,000 freeroll next Sunday. Currently there is 8000 players with 4000 places winning cash, so it should be a good tournament. :)

Edit: Also, so far only 3 people have registered for the Stud tournament tomorrow. We need more players!

The turn bet felt a bit weak to me so I though he would fold to a shove. I really wasn't expecting him to have a set of kings, but then I got very lucky and hit one of the tens that I needed

Is that the 50k guaranteed one? I was going to register for that but it had already been running for 50 minutes when I saw it and I prefer to play those from the beginning and build up a big stack before the first break.

No its just a 180 man tourney like the 4.40 but this allows for Re-buys and Add-ons however I didn't need to re-buy and forgot to add-on

Unlucky :(

I just can't seem to lose tonight and I keep getting it all-in with a severly dominated hand. I'm playing two tournies and in the other one I was fairly short stacked and in the BB, so with A8s I called a shove from the button who had AQ, but I hit my 8 to double up :D

Not a good day. Earlier I was having a fairly meh session. Not terrible but not running great either so I decided to end. I unposted blinds and played out my final few hands which included:

QQ vs AA AI pre vs shortish stack
AJ vs AT AI pre vs short stack and he hits the T
AA and I get a walk!

So I decided to grind this evening a bit and this happened:

Image

No point going into all the hands since you know what gooseberry fool can happen but to name a few.

Some guy calling £6 pre with 58 vs my AK and flop A85.
A few instances where people flop trips by limp calling with raggy aces.

And my favourite of all is losing an £84 pot AI at the turn with 86% equity! +1 broken keyboard etc.

Bad luck Rex, I'm sure you'll win it all back next time though ;)

I've had a pretty good day so far. I haven't really played poker for a couple of weeks and I just decided to play a few tournaments today. The first was a $7 turbo 180man which I got knocked out of after about 20 minutes. I then played two $11 MTTs and reached the cash in both and I'm still playing one of them.

The one I got knocked out of I only won $16. I was fairly short stacked and so got it all-in pre with QQ and got called by 77 and AKo. The flop was AK7 :fp:
The other tourney I'm currently guaranteed $55 and was doing very well, but I just lost a lot of chips with KQcc against JTcc so now I'm struggling quite a bit.

Edit: And now I'm out of that tourney too. I was completely card dead and couldn't play any hands as others before me were far too agressive. It got to a point where I was in the BB which was 5k and I only had 30k, but my cards were 62o and I was two away from another jump in the money so I decided to fold. A few hands later someone goes all-in with 67o and I call with A2 as I was very desperate and only had about 4BB. The flop came up 589 so they flopped a straight :fp:

I won $67 which isn't too bad, but it was very annoying to suddenly get nothing but 62, 72, and 82 for half an hour just when I was most desperate and in need of a decent hand :|

There was one guy who tilted me so much tonight on ipoker I must have lost £30 to him he was calling with bottom pair and kept hitting trips on the river or just generally getting lucky. Finally on a flop of J93 I just snapped called with AK all in I had raised in position on him with position and he called with J9.
