Pot is 760? 480/760 = 63%. Not bad IMO. I think the flop bet as played and shove the river. If you bet too much at flop he just folds so many hands. Price him in and shove the turn.

I didn't cash in the Omaha tournament today at poker soc and lost £30 playing cash.

1. Set vs over set
2. Two pair vs better two pair
3. AK vs AQ

BOOOO. On the + side I cashed in a SnG online.

You forgot the blinds. :P I think, he's calling 480 he's probably not folding for 120 more. The whole reason for that is to build the pot so that he can end up calling all in on the turn with the worst hand. I think you're agreeing with me, but not the flop bet right?

I really don't think I have. You always seem to misread pot totals? =\

Blinds are in @ 80 + 40 = 120. Some guy limps for 80. Nova makes it 320. Guy calls the 240 extra. Blinds fold.

320*2 = 640 + 120 = 760.

I think he would fold LOADS of hands to a 600 bet into a 760 pot. I know I would be. I think 480 is ok really. It gets a call. The turn comes good so takes the moneys there. Building pot arguments break down as soon as you reach the point where they fold too much of their range. In this case I think he will fold lots to a bet in excess of 500.

I think we agree but your miscalculated pot suggests you would bet too much on the flop? Certainly if it's 800 then 600 is all fine and good to go @ turn.

Playing 2 SNG tonight. Busto in one vs fish with Top pair top kicker and nut flush draw all in. GRRR.

EDIT: Flipped bad in the second one.

Yeah, I've counted an extra blind for some reason. :fp: Disregard.

Running 254th out of 900 ish in a 6000 2.75$ tourney atm. Was running out of time but a little patience allowed me to pretty much triple up in 6 hands. Hopefully this can make up for the disappointment of recent poker attempts!

That was really unlucky Nova, when I saw the Queen on the flop I thought you were getting some luck back after the AA's.

Thanks mate. I thought it was only a matter of playing the best hands that would get me to the last 100.

I wrong assumed that AA was better than K10, AK was better than T8 and AQ was better than AT and KJ :P

Only 6 tables today but much better results. (Well, two are still going but I am pretty deep in both).

I've just download "SNG Wizard" as it seems good and I want to see how I am playing @ the bubble. Will let you guys know if it is any good.

I was a little bored and couldn't sleep so I've popped on for a while. Started off well when I hit a set of fives with my first pocket pair of the session although I didn't take much from it. Took a nice pot off some guy when I hit top two with AK vs his A7. Also picked up Aces three times already with varied results. The first was this:

Twas a little annoying but I'm very happy with my level of tilt, I can't remember the last time I did in fact. I do stew and moan about some hands for a while as some of you will know but I don't allow it to affect my play. Second time I got 'em my raise was folded to. The third time though, I got some redemption and my money back.

I suppose this does fit in to here but I've been playing some of the freerolls on PokerStars and gotten in to 5 card draw. Came in the top 500 out of 6000 which I thought wasn't bad. Was in the top 100 for a bit as well before going all in on one hand. It doesn't seem as intense as THE. A lot less reading of people I find.

Problem with things like AK vs 10 8 is that although youre ahead, hes still got two very live cards, and is still 34% to win. It may be a bad call, but its not exceptionally bad luck when it hits.

Of course it's not, but in the perspective of then losing AA to K10 and AQ (leading at the flop against JK) to a river straight, in such a short period of time, it's exceptionally bad luck :P

Thats misfortune, but thats not even close to 'exceptionally bad luck' in poker generally!

Came in the top 500 out of 6000 which I thought wasn't bad. Was in the top 100 for a bit as well before going all in on one hand. It doesn't seem as intense as THE. A lot less reading of people I find.

It's still poker! Welcome :)

Draw is interesting but I don't know much strategy. I would have thought reading is so important though. In HE you can apply ranges to people's hands very easily and narrow them as play continues. In draw you know NOTHING about the likely range of their hand other than from their bet sizes. There are no community cards and I find this very hard to deal with!

Played some more SnG and made more money :D Going to play 8 more before bedtime.

Also Nova that sucks, such poor play from him.
