On the end? I dont think theres anything overly wrong with the big raise - to that end, you would have a hard time having him on the A-5. I think theres a lot that going to call him there that is going to win him a big pot, and only three likely hands that have him beat. A-A, 9-9 and A-5. I don't think the bet sizing changes much on the turn and river, I think against this player the money was going in anyway, I would err on the side of that being very hard to get way from. Maybe the end raise is a bit large, but if the other guy re-raised hes going to call anyway.

I'd probably flat due to the Way Ahead/Way Behind situation you're in and what with the river check-raise usually meaning big strength (Especially coming from a passive player.)

I would have played it the same but then that might be why I always lose money at cash tables.

To be honest, I think my line was mostly wrong. I deffo should have bet the flop with the ace on it. And the raise at the end from him definately worried me, but he showed down 63o that beat my AQ for a small pot early, after limp calling pre, so I didn't really know what to do with him.

The reason I shoved was just because I know I should be squeezing every bit of value from the massive hands in cash games, finding the best way to be the most profitable, and I felt he could show down with some sort of straight, an A-9, some crazy 5 or something.

You're right though, I just went for the value. Anyway. I'll stop playing in the middle of my work-time, and focus on some tournies after my exam on Thurs.

There isn't any value in raising since he won't call behind very often at all, if at all.

Nova you get value when they call off river bets behind. 3bet value betting a check raise seems a bit odd unless you have the absolute nuts. The board is good for you of course but there isn't exactly much value in raising imo.

Got a headset for your PC?

We've created a poker channel for you guys on Mumble, so you can chat while you're playing. It's just like Skype, but better. Like a voice forum if you will. Check it out:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16031

It's easy and free, and always there (hosted on the dedicated server).

We all Most of us already use a teamspeak server for chat.

Will join this mumbles now.

Is there any way to change annoying lady voice?

Are you talking about the text to speech thing? Yeah go into Configure > Settings > Messages and uncheck all the text to speech boxes.

Not really sure why it's enabled by default, I think it's for knowing what's going on when playing games, because you can't see the text messages.

Ah cheers. Yeah I can see the use for it but she was annoying. I just stick teamspeak on my other monitor when in game so I can track things. ;)

Software seems cool. I assume servers are similar prices to vent/teamspeak?

This mumble idea looks very good. I'll sort it out after my exam.

Mumble is open source and we're running it on GRcade's server (we have a dedicated server now, so I just installed the Mumble host myself), so we don't have to pay any extra. Because it's our own server it's pretty damn fast - there doesn't seem to be any issues.

Ah of course you have a dedicated server now. Does that mean I could ask for some cheap hosting of voice servers. >_>

Hmm will take this to PM and stop the non poker chat. Sorry!

EDIT: + $232 so far today. Let the rebuild begin!

EDIT: Ok VVV

I think we could do with saving our own bandwidth to be honest. ;)

I'm doing well in a couple of MTTs:

Currently 7/65 in a $11 MTT. There were over 4000 players at the start and I'm guaranteed at least $75 for 65th place.
I'm 78/683 in a $20 MTT. 270 places get paid so a little way to go yet.
Also got an above average stack in the daily 30k but that hasn't been running very long.
