A-FOUR, we both had the FH. Bit of a cooler, but I felt I needed to go with it. Back in it now thanks to a double.

I managed to crack AA with AQ with a four flush then lost with KK to JJ when he flopped a set and pushed.

Still im at the final table of the high roller event ($1 27 man  )

Not bad two final tables in a row.

Here's a hand I was just dealt. 99canes hasn't been at the table for very long so no reads but mozart is a bad station who I'm not worried about. Is calling the raise okay to fit or fold the flop?

PokerStars Game #33240211687: Omaha Pot Limit ($0.05/$0.10 USD) - 2009/09/24 22:29:16 WET [2009/09/24 17:29:16 ET]
Table 'Hermippe V' 6-max Seat #1 is the button
Seat 1: MalYZ ($10.40 in chips)
Seat 2: PsychicSykes ($14.60 in chips)
Seat 3: mozart 67 ($3.90 in chips)
Seat 4: 99canes ($12.60 in chips)
Seat 5: kyongilxp ($12.10 in chips)
PsychicSykes: posts small blind $0.05
mozart 67: posts big blind $0.10
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to PsychicSykes [Ts Kc Qc Ks]
99canes: raises $0.20 to $0.30
kyongilxp: folds
MalYZ: raises $0.75 to $1.05
PsychicSykes: ????

Yeah, just ran out of luck. That FH hand killed me, I cant believe he didnt throw me all in, I would have had to of called. So making the final table was a real achievement in the end, had to shove with A-J. Still, good showing for today, and I'm confident I could do it again. Not enough guys actually add-on, which means more money and youre stating higher in the order straight away.

I don't know, that's why I ask. It's an unknown 3betting so I don't know what his range is and I think my reverse implied odds aren't great, because I'm not making a hero fold if I flop a flush. Results below.

PsychicSykes: calls $1
mozart 67: calls $0.95
99canes: calls $0.75
*** FLOP *** [9c 4h Jd]
PsychicSykes: checks
mozart 67: checks
99canes: checks
MalYZ: bets $4
PsychicSykes: raises $9.55 to $13.55 and is all-in
mozart 67: calls $2.85 and is all-in
99canes: folds
MalYZ: calls $5.35 and is all-in
Uncalled bet ($4.20) returned to PsychicSykes
*** TURN *** [9c 4h Jd] [Th]
*** RIVER *** [9c 4h Jd Th] [Kd]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
PsychicSykes: shows [Ts Kc Qc Ks] (a straight, Nine to King)
MalYZ: shows [8s Jc 8d Ad] (a pair of Jacks)
PsychicSykes collected $12.35 from side pot
mozart 67: shows [7c 3d Jh 5d] (a pair of Jacks)

I don'th think you can very easily apply ranges in Omaha like you can in hold em due to the complexity of possible starting hands. Omaha is more of a flop game and since your hand can flop VERY hard then you should play it. I see people 3bet with loads of rando hands.

Cheers. I still have plenty to learn obv but the ranges bit is very helpful.

How's that video coming along? :shifty:

Just watched the video, interesting stuff as I haven't played much Omaha and there definitely was a couple of hands that you folded that I probably would have played (can't remember which of the top of my head though). It's a shame that there aren't any play money games of Omaha on Stars to cut your teeth with.

I'm tempted to make a video of some 9-Mans later but my Camtasia trial has expired. Any other programs that people would recommend?

<Edit> You can play Omaha for play money on FT.

I'm at my 3rd consequtive final table just now, I know the standard of play isn't great but i've taken it down a gear for a bit til the GRSOP is out the way.

Yes definitely, the stake isn't really important it's more to see how different people play and to get ideas and tips from each other. I'll only be playing the $1 9-Mans which I seem to do ok on but I can't seem to get the hang of MTT so I'd like to see a video from someone who does well on these at the same level I'd be playing.
