Not that amusing then.

Are you guys playing tommorow, I fancy boosting my bankroll. ;)

Ha ha, don't start. Bad beats, it happens I guess. Ridiculous when someone goes all in 64 though. Pulls a river out of his arse and I'm the player whose down.

KK now though, let's see what happens

Well, after all of that, I won my last game of the day and took $14, putting me back up to 100$. Weird.

I rate myself as a bubble/money player, so I'll probably stick to the sit and goes, with a few tourneys, rather than cash.

I think maybe I should play more of Nova's SnG games (yes, they are now your games). I won my second from two since registering on PokerStars. Took it pretty slow, didn't play a hand until I got down to 1200 chips when I picked up my first playable hand with JQ, hit trip Queens, the next hand I got JQ and hit two pair, up to about 2k. The hand which really changed the game for me was my BB of 3To. Flop was Q33. There are bets, I flat call. Turn is the case three. There are bets again, I just call. River is a Jack, it is then checked around to me. I can either bet and potentially scare everyone away, or I can see what the last guy wants to do. Knowing he likes to bet I checked, he bets out 400, everyone else folds. I take a long time before check-raising all in, he snap calls with Ace High.

My stack was then at 3500, and that didn't change until it got down to the final three. Me and one other have almost identical stacks, the guy across has the remaining 6k. Eventually I worked my way up to 9k with them on 2k each, dusted off one with AK vs A3, leaving me and the original big stack. Managed to donk off 1200 chips on a bluff when the board had been checked until a King hit the river while I was holding 5 high, won a couple of pots and got my way to 11k. AQs came along and considering I have him dominated at a 5:1 chip lead I figured he has to try and shove me off pretty soon, but he folded! Picked up Kings next hand, he called my BB and we saw a flop of QT8. He pushes, I snap call, and I win.

I'm not sure why I typed all this out... I don't feel tired and I need something to do I suppose. :P

The 'roll is back up to $114.

Very nice Drumstick, welcome to my gametype :P

With Sit and Goes, I know where I stand. I know where I can get bad beats and things but I also know how to recover with them when I'm low on chips, whereas with cash I'm always scared that I'll lose it.

That and the fact that SnGs are more exciting :P

I've rationed myself to just two hours of poker a day (I've played an hour this morning), just played a 3$ sit and go and a 1$ double or nothing and won both 8-)

Earlier in the game I played my luck (I had trip aces at the flop with 2 in my pocket, and he had a straight :| Lame flop. I rivered a flush), but, not to blow my own trumpet, but I'm definitely proud of my patient, yet aggressive game at the HU. I had 1,400 chips against 10k/11k, and still took the bastard out :D

Deciding hand was my 44 vs his 33.

Bankroll - £110.11

DML how is the roll going? Drummers said you had a good game and you might now have that $8? Send it back when you can and I will give back the 5. :D

Yeah, dollars. On $100 now, a combination of silly play and bad beats, but I'm happy there. Will leave it after this 1$ tourney for a couple of days I reckon.

Lonestar that is some pretty bad luck :(

I know it won't seem much help but if you are getting the chips in ahead you are a good player. Luck is just gooseberry fool sometimes. :(

I have had quite a good luck spell today so far. Here are some hands of interest:

A very interesting situation there Rex and a very difficult decision to boot. If the river was a non-spade I'd snap call, simply because of the checked turn forcing him to bluff very weak holdings that won't win a showdown.

The fact he cold called the preflop and flop raises leads me to believe he has a hand he likes, but being fishy this could easily be a draw of some kind. Unfortunately, his most probable draw being As-xs (Him being a fish and all) now is the nuts and even an idiot knows it. So why is he betting so much? You're clearly not too enamoured with your hand as the check on the turn shows which makes me think he's holding a weaker hand a fair bit of the time. Given the good pot odds on the end and the fact that he's the type of player who seems likely to make a bluff when given the opportunity, I'd call. Even if you lose, you'll get a decent amount of information about how he plays that will soften the blow.

It's pretty sticky but given his stats I made the call. When the river came down I thought to myself, he is fully capable of making a bet here without any made hand at all. I'd been playing with him a bit now and he was a bit of a nut. Basically I expected a bet no matter what since I had position. I then considered that only 3 cards were ahead and made the call. In addition say he has like the ace, or perhaps the queen or jack. What does this mean he is making calls preflop and on the flop with? Nothing but an overcard/overcards? I thought it was right to call and I did winning the pot. He had A3, both clubs!

Also + $190 today so far :D

I've given up with SNG's, I'm getting fed up of playing for 45 minutes only to have my aces beat by Q10. Time for the cash tables.

I don't know what to say other than that variance can be a killer. Just keep persevering and getting your money in good and eventually things will turn around.

Incidentally, and you probably won't read this until your game is finished, I've been watching your table for the last 30 hands. :P

Edit: Maybe Aces don't hold up on FT as I've just seen you crack some guy's rockets with AQ.

I'm in but it's a bit short notice. Maybe later or tomorrow night would be better suited if we can't get a bunch of us.

I think there's seven of us on here who have FT accounts (You, myself, Sykes, Rex, Lonestar, Satriales and Slayer).

Tomorrow night is better for me as I have some stuff to sort out tonight and the LPPL tomorrow.
