Wow, I love the Spanish look of the game - there was a tiny glimpse of the map in the video and it looked like Spain/Portugal, which is a great setting. I love the starters as well - I may even switch from fire to grass for the first time for that cat.

Seems waaaaaay too soon, but I'm excited.

The world looks pretty good too. I was just saying the other day, I'm kind of over their mostly poor representation of foreign countries, and I wanted them to just come up with an original region instead. Looks like maybe that's what they have done?

Didn't expect a Gen 9 reveal and definitely didn't expect it to be releasing this year.

You could always go to the reality where my vision of Gen Nine released. You'd have an entire region based on Wales with that.

As for the map, I'll do more digging when I finish up my article, but I have a feeling we're looking at just under half of it with that small look we're given. It doesn't give us an idea of scale, though, and that's what I'm most interested in.

I do hope that it stays as a gator even though it's probably going to turn into a snake of some sort to riff off how snakes gradually lost their legs as they evolved, it does already look like the front ones are kind of stubby so would make sense that second stage loses those and third stage goes full snek (although that concept sounds like it might be too close to how snivy's line evolves).

Also, pretty sure that the big Pokeball Church is meant to look like the Sagrada Familia if this region is based off Spain

It does seem too soon for gen 9 though considering how we’ve had 2 Pokémon games since November :lol:

I actually really like the 3 starters though, think for my first run it’ll be Sprigatio though :wub:

And it's got a good name! I couldn't tell you any starters name after gen 5.

If it’s based on Spain I’m guessing the original legendary birds will be in yet another game, mainly as they end in uno, dos & tres.
