Sounds pretty sweet. Give it a thumping techno soundtrack and some Bayonetta like set pieces and it will just be amazing.

The author of the article is not too impressed by neither story nor cinematics

:fp: Please, no more bullshit story. That killed Bayonetta for me. Stick to what you're good at Platinum and concentrate on the rest of that quote;

and thinks that the game works best when it focuses on the intense action.

They're perhaps a little small to tell, but it looks like there is a little more variety in some of the backgrounds, which is just what the game needed.

I won't mind any story if it's along the same lines as, say, Resi 4. Bayonetta's, by contrast, was ludicrously self-indulgent. And a bit embarrassing, truth be told.

That looks a like PN 03 but with Gears cover mechanic.

Visually impressive, gameplay look like it'd get very repetitive if the game really is 10hrs+. (just like PN. 03)

Looks very silly...awesome.

This is the way to do a Japanese cover shooter. Really hope its good. A lot of pressure on them after Bayonetta.

This looks fantastic! Bayonetta never really clicked with me, but this looks more my thing.

I'm glad the voice acting is up to scratch :roll: strawberry float, really worried there will be too much story. I can't go through another game like Bayonetta. Here's hoping it takes a more serious tone which it seems to be going from that trailer

Gameplay wise, bring it on. Looked great fun and a spiritual successor to PN.03 is music to my eyes. Looked great fun

Really didn't understand people complaining about the story in Bayonetta, I mean it was a little on the heavy side in terms of length I suppose but it was hardly the worst for it, plus the game was made for multiple playthroughs at which point cutscenes really do become completely irrelevant.

Y'know what Vanquish is going to need to help it on its way, don't you? A strategy guide trailer ;)
Looks amazing, a little less freeform than something like Bayonetta, which was too dizzying for my liking.

Capcom? Street Fighter, Resident Evil and Marvel vs Capcom are all Japan studios. SEGA, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, Square-Enix still doing great things, Level-5 still have games a of decent quality. Japan is fine. As long as they play to their strengths. Vanquish for example could be any old shooter from the west but that trailer showed enough cool Japanese touches to show they can mix east/western styles.

And of course Nintendo.

Oh yeah Nintendo.

What have any of those other places got coming up though? Nothing I'm interested in.
