I'm guessing that a large proportion of that downloiad number is on mobile phones.
The seemingly strong focus on coin purchasing and player card packs (loot boxes) is putting me off from trying it... but maybe there are modes that don't feature those? I suppose I gotta download it to see!
Weirdly I actually downloaded this earlier this week. Unfortunately it looked like you can only play online with 'normal' teams against friends, there was no online matchmaking for it as far as I could tell.

Ah! In the Pro Evo days I completely avoided that Ultimate Team-type BS and just played the transaction-free Online Divisions mode. Oh well.
I'm downloading it on Steam now. Will feed back. Worth noting I haven't touched eFootball at all until now; not even a demo.
Did try FIFA on PC (possibly '23?) and it was a janky mess. Never had myself down as a frame rate snob but strawberry floating hell, it was ridiculous.
OK, just played a couple of games. Early impressions are fairly positive. Plays like later versions of PES. The less said about the menus etc the better, but I appeared to be playing something that felt like Master League (ish?) - ie I was St Mirren, in a league, against non-human opponents, with entirely fictional players that I need to level up. Graphics do what they need to do and the frame rate is solid.
Oh, and it's pretty easy. I won 6-0 and 4-1, the latter on a fairly high difficulty level.
I can't make head nor tail of the non-gameplay side of things but I managed to have a couple of decent games so I may stick with this for a while.

Good to hear that you've given it a go, Poser, and I'm now tempted, too. PES was my main game from around 2012 to 2018... but I dunno if I've still got the appetite for it!

It's worth trying for free, tbh. Not having a football game has been plaguing me; I've been hovering over the new Sensible Soccer but, and this may sound harsh, I don't think I want to pay more than a tenner for it.
Based on two games last night, I'd rather pick this up for a quick match than FIFA. I wont be ploughing a lot of time into it, but I'll continue to post bitesized impressions in here as I go.
