I thought for two years about my tattoo before getting it, and I've never regretted it. To be honest I couldn't give a flying strawberry float what anyone else thinks of it. My body, my choice.

Yup, told her the whole sordid affair, warts (fiance) and all. She loved it. It was like a Bogart romance, in the telling.

I was hoping it would turn out a bit more along these lines:

Quite obviously I'm not basing the fact of whether I get a tattoo or its design on what Grcade thinks, was just curious as to what folk thought is all.

I'm planning on getting Ephemera done on my wrist.

I realise it's kind of ironic to have as a tattoo. I was planning on getting the bioshock chains done on one wrist for ages but it didn't have much meaning behind it. I feel like this would be a lot better.

The origin of it is that it's the name of my favourite album of my favourite band. But when I looked into the meaning of the word it had quite a few nice connotations.

I've done quite a few things I should be proud of this year, and seeing the band live was the happiest I remember being in years.

So what do you guys think? Will I regret it?

I think people will ask you "what does that word mean?" and you'll have to explain it to them, and then they'll say something like "but tattoos aren't ephemeral", and you'll feel silly.

Plus it sounds a bit like effeminate, which isn't great.

As I said yesterday, if you are asking other people if it is a good idea, then it is probably a bad idea.

Do you think it's a good idea to ask if people think it's a good idea to ask if they should get a tattoo?

I'm asking because I don't have any tattoos and people with them would have a better idea if I'd regret it or not from their own personal experience.

Maybe I'll just get the bioshock chain then, have been considering that for almost half a year now.

A thin version though, I've seen a few thick versions with WOULD YOU KINDLY written underneath and they look so bad.
