Rumours coming out that Sainz has rejected the idea of going to Audi……. Which I get, he wants an established team to go, but it doesn’t seem like Red Bull want him to partner Verstappen and Mercedes seem to be moving towards the idea of fast tracking Antoneli, so unless Verstappen goes to Mercedes and then Sainz takes up the place at Red Bull, I’m not sure where he could go next year? It’d be one thing dropping down to Sauber before it morphs into Audi, but another taking a huge risk on going to somewhere like Williams, who probably won’t want to pay his salary and are seemingly stuck in the midfield.

Verstappen quickest with barely any running for him due to set up issues, I’ll be catching up on sprint qualifying tomorrow afternoon, looks like it could be tight, but it’ll probably be a walk in the park for him, again.

I actually hate this track as well, think it takes the top spot even for made up street tracks that aren’t street tracks.

What's the reason for the blue again?. I thought it was supposed to be all blue as a one off when I heard about it. That looks awful

Really does sound like Newey is heading for retirement more than a new team as soon as he can, read something where he said he wants to go travelling in France in a motorhome with his wife and dogs.

Quite possibly

Could well do what Rory Byrne did/does, semi retired consultant type role for Ferrari, I’d forget until the other day that Newey had a crash on his bike in 2021, maybe his outlook changed in the wake of that?

I imagine 99% of people in Newley’s position would have retired 5 years ago to be honest, or definitely after last year where they smashed all the records

The fact that I can't find any upside to Red Bull letting him go in 2025 with no-gardening leave or anything makes me think the same.
They clearly think he's totally done.

But then why not just come out and say that?

As Newey himself probably doesn’t want to say he’s retiring  would much prefer to do a Häkkinen and take an extended break that naturally becomes a retirement rather than admit to himself that he’s finished with the sport.

I’ve just put it back on after a power cut  what happened between Ocon and Leclerc?

Sky still endlessly hyping the rubbish sprints, saying how they’re becoming more popular because people at the track are watching it, what do they expect people at the track to do?

Saying it's a sign of how popular the sprints are that there's a noisey DJ split playing. A dj, paid to be there by the race organisers. strawberry float sake.

Was just an unsafe release, but he should have seen Leclerc and stopped in time. Caught napping I think.

Lando having a crap weekend so far.

I’m not saying it is the case, but it’s weird how Ricciardo has had an upturn in form while Tsunoda’s has dropped, when Ricciardo has had a new chassis, so is it a new chassis? Or have they swapped?
