Oh, I would absolutely love a new World Championships. Can't remember when it was they brought it back for that one year, but it was brilliant to watch the action unfold. Even with those singular game tournaments such as Splatoon, there's so much enjoyment from them.

Whatever the announcement, it will be good to have something to look forward to.

The absolute best case scenario for the rest of the year is a couple more remakes and hopefully the first 3 generations of Pokemon added to the Switch eshop, if Metroid Prime 4 isn't in the next direct then I can definitely see that being a launch title for Switch 2/cross gen for the current Switch.

No May 4th sale for Star Wars games anyway? Was hoping I'd be able to pick Battlefront collection up for a bit cheaper :(

I was browsing the eShop last evening and saw a big "May 4th" banner with Star Wars games listed... but no price reductions!

That addition looks pretty cool, Fisher; five creatures that can join you on your dungeon quests.

Switch still pushing out those sales, the forecast for the FY is 13.5million so they must have something planned to push those sorts of numbers. Big price cuts perhaps? New Lite model with OLED screen?

If they've sold 141 million and 13 million sales are planned... well, hold on to your hats because my exceptional mathematical skills indicate that this could bring Switch mighty close to the all-time best-selling figures achieved by DS and PS2 of 154 and 155 million respectively!

Perhaps Switch is destined to become the king of consoles?

It’ll be crazy if Nintendo end up being the first developer to go digital only, with a cart slot only for backwards compatibility purposes.

I could see this happening. The conbsole platform holders are desperate to eliminate physical media and, alongside publishers, have complete control over game pricing; with no re-sale or sharing functionality.

As an aside, we don't actually have a final reported figure for the PS2. 155m was the number shipped as at March 2012 and production finally stopped in January 2013. Jim Ryan this year said they sold 160m but it's not clear how accurate that is or how much he was rounding.

If he's saying they sold 160m PS2s this year I would say that he was rounding "a lot".
