I just wish they could come up with new ideas rather than squeeze old ones for every penny.

The dominance of sequels at the box office really sucks the life out of cinema though.

New live action LOTR movie confirmed, LOTR hunt for Gollum.

Peter Jackson to produce. Hopefully it's decent. No other details other than release in 2026 which seems a bit quick to me so must have been in preproduction for a while.

I assume Mortensen and McKellen are not going to be in it.

Recasting Aragorn and Gandalf is probably going to be disastrous.

Perhaps Nicolas Cage will agree to play Aragorn this time?

Nah, it's finally time for Stuart Townsend to shine.

Going by the film title, this'll be set hundreds of years after Gollum's origin story :capnscotty:

That's alright. No-one played the game to even know of Gollum's origin story, anyway.

Of all the possible Middle Earth stories, this was the one they looked at and said, "make that a movie series"?

Lol okay.

I do wonder how it'll pan out, though. Kinda curious to see how it ends up.

I doubt they have access to any of the Silmarillion stories and are limited to The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

They should be making a Bombadil movie :capnscotty:

I’ve just come to the cinema for the first time in a while to see the Transformers 40th Anniversary thing - I make up 25% of the audience. Still, hoping it’s good and I’ll see the real voice of Optimus Prime do his thing.
