Youtube support would be a good addition and would make chalky's life a little easier.

Interesting new environment is my number one request (ruined city?), more fun single player 2 then probably upping the multiplayer limit.

That's because hardly anybody uses one of the main features of Motorstorm...the use of other routes. For some reason everyone seems to gravitate towards each other to get the upper hand by knocking them off-track or summat. I'd say the level design needs to be improved so people actually use them more.

I don't know, that could just be because everyone picks the same vehicles for certain tracks. Having spent all day with the SP today, I found that when I was forced to change vehicles, I would opt for a different route. In general, I'll try and get as high up as possible with buggies and bikes, but go for the muddy, central wade-right-through routes with a Mudplugger or something different.

I would say it seems to be your vehicle that dictates route, rather thana lack of different paths. I think too many different routes would thin the field out too much, meaning you would hardly see everyone else and it would lose that manic, free for all collision feel. You don't want all bikes on one path and all big rigs on the other, as you would lose those moments when all those vehicles collide.

Yes, this is my in-depth expert opinion after one day's worth of play.

Generally the vehicle choice determines the best route through the course and it is balanced enough so that all the vehicles will be able to complete a lap in roughly the same time.

The reason it doesn't work so well in multiplayer is because if everyone else is picking monster trucks and big rigs then you are just going to get flattened when you are on a bike or small vehicle. If a bikes route is made slightly quicker to compensate for this then everyone ends up picking the bike instead because it's quickest.

Then you get tracks like Calderra Ridge which is full of rocks and so if you pick a bike or ATV you will potentially have a very quick time but you'd need to get lucky and avoid all of the rocks as well as the usual carnage. Everyone else will be in Monster Trucks because they can just go straight over all of the rocks.

It is a very balanced game considering all of the variables but it's not perfect and when we play it every week you get in the habit of using the same vehicles everytime. Last night I used the ATV on Rain God Spires while everyone else was on the bikes. I had a bad start and also crashed near the end trying to avoid a teamate so I only came 9th but it was a close race and there was only about 2 secs between 4th - 9th.

I say screw the unique terrain and go for a World Tour theme.

That way you can bring back some of the gems from the original (of which there are many), some from Pacific Rift, te snow environment from Arctic Edge as well as this supposed city rumour.

Personally, I'd like backwards compatibility with all MS1, PR and AE tracks, but that's surely just a pipe dream. It would be amazing, though.

I disagree. For one, Sugar Rush is the only tight track in PR but it is still very much raceable. And two, the SP is 16 players anyway.

Rock Hopper is an awesome track.

I'm going to have to go back and play Motorstorm again, it's been too long.

Second favourite track of the game, simple from the outlook, but when racing you'd often get caught out at 1:00. And the jump at 1:25 was always a tricky one.

I hope it's set in other cities around the US. Also, what's with the people running around. Hmmm....

This game is going to be so good.

Does that icon at the bottom of the last screen suggest video recording? :o

Edit: I just noticed the helicopter firing a rocket!
So basically the game is going to be pure chaos

Woah there. The thing with Motorstorm is that it always looks good in video but actually playing it can suck balls. There is a lot that needs fixing and until they fix the core they shouldn't be adding things like 3d. If they keep the same problems into a third installment then the franchise will be as good as dead. Not many people will tolerate the same old gooseberry fool but in a different environment. The hype train needs to stay firmly in the station till we get a hands on account.

Looks like a replay editor. Could be good with MM if it has youtube support. Hopefully it will allows highlight reels to be made as just uploading full races would be a step backwards for us. We might finally get to see all the action from a Monday.

I pray it's not open world.

Triangle changes the camera, that's probably all it is. Although there's never been a camera icon on the screen like that before.
