They are both good films but I think I prefer Leon.

Think about it. 5ive, Driv3r aren't things you want to be associated with. And 7 doesn't even look like a V.

7 looks like a V that has been rotated 90 degrees.

I much prefer Leon. Maybe because it's that bit more immediate, as someone else has pointed out.
Gary Oldman is strawberry floating class in it.

The original cut Léon, don't like the directors cut where the girl takes him out on a date and shares a bed with him, the original cut is much better. One of my favourite films, loved the ending.

Both of these are loved, but I went for Leon. Great double-bill for a saturday night though.

Both are amazing, I simply can't choose which one is better.

Although if someone asked me which one to watch first, I'd go with Leon.

Morgan Freeman might be cooler than Gary Oldman (okay, he is) but no way is Brad Pitt cooler than Jean Reno. What's the matter with you people? Interesting side note - that Onimusha game with Jean Reno's likeness, they were originally going to use Steven Seagal. True story.

Seven is best.

Little bit of trivia, in one scene in Leon, Natalie Portman is watching Transformers: The Movie.

Naturally this will sway peoples' votes.

Surely that would only look right if all the rest of the letters were rotated, too? Until then, it looks more like a T. 1337 doesn't spell leev, does it?

Leon was good but Seven is sheer brilliance.

I'd already voted for Leon anyway, but you have a good point.

I'm unconvinced by sentiments throughout this discussion which see Leon as (in a grudging sort of way) 'instantly gratifying' and (equally grudgingly) 'above average.' It's poetry for the eyes, man. Beautiful. Don't get me wrong, Se7en's brilliant, truly it is, and I understand people thinking the decision's difficult. But credit where credit's due, people: Portman plays her role perfectly, and Oldman is majestic. And yes, the ending is special.

Average, though? Honestly?

No. Above average. Really.

The opening is fantastic I'll give it that. Ending is massively overrated though; not quite sure why it gets so much praise.

Cool. I've no desire to push the case of Leon any harder than the three lines of praise I mustered above. I just (and others have done it better than I) wanted to imply that one could genuinely see it as the more accomplished film, without resorting to arguments surrounding the replacement of letters with numbers. We just ain't gonna agree on the ending, though.

If I had to choose between only one existing or whatever then I'd choose Se7en. It's the better film. But I found it really heavy for obvious reasons whereas Leon I can watch multiple times and enjoy it each time. So for my DVD collection or whatever I'd choose Leon.

I think the directors cut of Leon is better than the original cut but Seven is prettier... So I'm going with Seven. No, Leon. No wait! seven.

strawberry float it I can't choose - they're both amazing :-)

I imported the Japanese version of the directors cut DVD years ago and while the English soundtrack is there, the Japanese soundtrack is fantastic! Leon has a deep samurai voice and Matilda has a squeeky little anime girl voice :D

Why Leon vs Seven? They're both completely different films. :|

And for the record, I pick Leon purely because Seven's twist was too obvious. They are both excellent films though.

But still, why the comparison? They're nothing alike.
