Captain America - ***

Good fun, high spirited but something didn't quite sit right. Either we're all to eager for The Avengers or the superhero origin film has been done to death. Still though, nobody can argue the entertainment value of Nazis being killed.

Just seen Capt America. Hexx has pretty much said everything I was going to. Equal to Thor for me.

3.5/5

Roll on Avengers.

I wonder what the post-credits scene is going to be for The Avengers.

The Adjustment Bureau.

Meh.

As with most Philip K Dick adaptations, there were some excellent ideas but some lazy execution. All the ideas underpinning the story were promptly jetissoned the second the writers realised that actually there were not any easy answers to the moral dilemmas being presented and so, instead we had lacklustre action sequences hinged on, of all things, magic strawberry floating hats. Unfortunately, this also left a fuckload of unanswered questions and unresolved plotlines which meant that the story and resolution had little impact. Also not sure why all the comparisons were being made to Inception as the two were barely related. A better comparison would be The Time Travellers Wife as all the sci-fi silliness was really just a construct to explore a love story. Except it wasn't.

I think that was the major problem of the movie, it didn't know whether it was a love story or a Sci-Fi and so ended up failing at both.

Interesting ideas wasted by lacklustre execution and unsteady and unconfident direction.

Law Abiding Citizen.

I was liking it until Jamie Foxx basically killed Gerard Butler. I wanted the "bad" guy to win and blow everyone up. He more likeable than anyone else. reminded me of Collateral in that I was rooting for the "bad" guy, not really liking Jamie Foxx and left feeling disappointed by the end of it..

Good fun, nothing bad about it as such, just not that spark it needs. Also, 3D is poop.

Rambo IV - 7/10
Wasn't half bloody brutal! A fitting end to the series.

Horrible Bosses - 7/10
A bit uneven but theres plenty to keep you chuckling. Aniston was looking mighty fine!

Captain America - 6/10
Evans is good and the bits where hes a scrawny weakling are very well done and interesting. However, whenever he turns into the Cap you just couldn't give a toss about him. The plot was clichéd, the script was boring and as for Weaving's Nazi accent, i don't even know :| A lot of the problems i think are inherent with the character but if you're a Cap fan you'll prob enjoy it more.

I was rooting for Gerald Butler up until he killed that fit Lawyer in training. Not cool. That bit also had me turning my car on with the door open for the next few days... :shifty:

Transformers 3

I have never witnessed rosie in the flesh before :o
So much better than fox.

And is it wrong I enjoyed the film, felt like the first one again, towards the end there were times when a lot of nothing was going on but it was a decent way to finish the films. I loved it

8.5/10

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Valentine's Day

Well. I suppose it filled in two hours quite nicely. Couldn't really care less about Ashton Kutcher's character, so I'm glad that, while he was the "main" character, it didn't focus on him quite as much as it could've done. The Taylor Swift/Emma Roberts, Anne Hathaway and Julia Roberts storylines were the vaguely enjoyable ones, the others were a bit... bleh.

Taylor Lautner has a really stupid face. His cheekbones seem to be invading his eye-space far too much.

5/10

Probably the worst rom-com I've seen. I dread to think how New Year's Eve is going to end up. It's basically the exact same cast + Zac Efron.
