If you can spot where CGI was used, then it's a bad special effect. Period. Ditto for conventional special effects. To me, a great special effect is when you don't notice it's an 'effect' and just accept. CGI should if used effectively aid with this. However, studios have got lazy and cheap and it has become overused.

Cube 2 has some of the worse CGI I have ever seen in a modern day film.

Don't believe me...4 minutes onwards

The bad resolution of youtube actually makes it look better.

The Elm Street remake was a complete waste of time, I wish Platinum Dunes would bugger off.

Yeah, totally agree: Drag Me To Hell says hi.

CGI also dates very quickly. Jurassic Park and Star Wars have stood the test of time because of the models used.

I think I will watch it as I haven't seen it for yonks.

I've been itching to watch Scream after reading Empire's piece on the latest one (and going over the previous trilogy).

Watching it now confirms that yes, it still manages to scare the crap out of me. Couldn't really do a dramatic cellphone drop nowadays however.

Looking at some of the titles in the IMDb Top 250, Scream should definitely be in there.

Scream - 5/10

What the hell... It was hilarious and average at its best! It was more like a teen film than a horror and some scenes made me laugh. Oh, how times has changed since now and then.

I always quite enjoyed Scream. Certainly better than a lot of horror/frightners out there.

I was in the same room as Bride Wars was being watched last night. I thought it was terrible.

That was actually (the) one thing I liked about the new Freddy movie. It spends the whole movie setting up that Freddy was innocent and that this is his way of exacting revenge. The twist ending that, in fact, he really did abuse them all and was pissed off they'd suppressed the memories, so was murdering them so they'd remember being raped was strawberry floating dark! The movie was dull as anything though.

I watched Scream and Scream 2 in the last couple of months and thought they were both still excellent. It helped that it had been long enough since seeing them that I'd forgotten most of the jumpy moments.

Scream - 8

Always liked this film. It was so long since I'd previously seen it that it was the first time I noticed that the principal was Barry Zuckerkorn from AD.

I love the first two scream films...also in number 2 isnt the dude in the film class the one from Die Hard 4? :o

I enjoyed the first one massively if only for the different style of plot, the first time I watched it I genuinely had no idea there was two of them or that it was billy and stu

Timothy Olyphant has done far better stuff than just Scream 2 and Die Hard 4.

Tron Legacy - 6/10

Never seen the original, but thought I'd give this one a bash. Thought it was actually alright. The plot seemed pretty thin and some bits were just stupid, but for a silly sci fi film it was enjoyable. Some of it looked amazing, and not just Oliva Wilde  .

I thought the CGI for "young" Clu was actually very good at times, but then when he spoke it had that horrible unnatural slowness to it that ruined it.
Wouldn't mind seeing it in 3D one day as I'm sure that would be rather cooool.
