Hmm doesn't sound good o_O Going to see Drag Me To Hell tomorrow, won't be happy if it disappoints... I was seriously looking forward to it after the write up in Empire, and various other publications. It seems to be getting a lot of good reviews for it to have missed the mark too much.

Almost Famous is one of my favourites. It's a well written piece of work, and I always annoy another people to watch it as soon as possible. It's bloody great.

Watch it if you haven't yet!!! :x

Go in expected a very average movie with average acting, no real scares, very ropey SFX and very shitty plot that at times takes itself far too seriously & you should be get some enjoyment out of the movie.

I know that makes it sound terrible, but the movie does have some genuinely funny scenes...the rest might be shite, but it's worth watching just for those scenes.

The car scene, graveyard scene & goat scene are probably the funniest of the bunch. (just thinking about the goat scene has set me off.  )

Just got back from seeing Drag Me to Hell and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere in the cinema was fantastic; it was genuinely hilarious and very gross! It's been a hell of a long time since I've seen a film that's been able to meld horror and comedy in such an effective way. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and on this form I can't wait to see what Raimi will throw at Campbell, after what poor Lohman had to put up with. 8/10.

Eh? There were some very funny scenes, but genuinely hilarious & very gross.

Ridiculous.

And meld comedy & horror in such an effective way? Sure they didn't add some hallucinogens to your popcorn/drink.

I kid, it's your opinion and I'm very pleased you thoroughly enjoyed it...even though I thought it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. (although that has a lot to do with what I think of Raimi's past work, which compared to this PoS are cinematic masterpieces)

Picked up Diary of the Dead for £8 on Blu Ray, along with The Shining and 28 days later on Blu Ray for £20. :D

Watching Diary now.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Im a sucker for zombie/end of the world movies. So far its not bad, the cast are a bit crap but its never about them is it.

Rec - 8/10

It's very good, looses a mark for shakey cam (it's there for a reason I know but it's still annoying) and for the boring middle section. Beginning, middle and end with padding to make it a bit longer (still only 90 minutes).

The Incredible Hulk - 7/10

I thought it's a bit better than the first one and it's a decent film with some good actions, but it's nothing like Iron Man though.

I've already made a thread about it so I'll keep this brief but add another "I loved it" for Drag Me To Hell.

It IS a lot like Raimi's earlier stuff, particularly Evil Dead 2 and as a massive fan of that I loved this. It's the same mix of black comedy/cheesy gore and there's some nice little nods to Evil Dead for the fans.

Loved the bit where they summon the demon with the spirit laughter and the objects moving, just like the scene in Evil Dead 2 where the lamps etc.. come alive and start laughing. Also the bit where the guy gets possessed by the demon and floats up in the air again was pure Evil Dead. Then of course her line when she's on the way to the cemetary "i'm gonna get some" Evil Dead 4 cannot come soon enough if this is a sign of how it'll be - just pray he makes it before Bruce Campbell gets too old to lift a chainsaw.

It's funny, cheesily gory and in places, a little grim but in all the right ways. I don't know how Sarge and I can have such different opinions but horses for courses I guess but I went in with high hopes and it exceeded all of them.

One of Sarge's comments I really don't get though is that it needed more gore..

In the film, a fountain of blood spurts from her nose, eyes fly out of a head into her mouth with a bunch of blood, bile gets vomited around several times.. what more was needed really? It easily matches Evil Dead 2 on the gore front (and 1 barring maybe the tree rape scene but he's never gonna beat that for shock value).

Embarrassingly to say, is Blade Runner: The Director Cut worth it to watch?

If yes, it's on Sky tonight so I thought I might as well watch it while I can.
