I know it's highly rated, but come on, I can't be the only one to find it all so boring and slow

You guys. I expect this of Mind Crime, but you Albear... :fp:

Hey, hold on a second. Doesn't Albear have a history of watching films which are heavily praised on here and not liking them?

He didn't like No Country For Old Men either.

But then neither did I.

Star Trek - 5/10

I don't know how to start with, as I'm not into Star Trek or anything and arrived at the cinema with my mind open. Some scenes were pretty good, but I could tell it has used the CGI heavily and the whole of the film felt average to me, just average.

This film isn't for me at all, but lucky I watched it for free anyway.

Baby Mama - meh/10 (meh probably equating to a 5). Very little to shout about here, solid enough, with some decent one-liners but it was SO obvious how it was gonna pan out and I never really laughed all that much. Poor relation to Mean Girls IMO.

It's not a film but I'll cheat and say it's near enough one. Battlestar Galactica pilot mini-series.

Watched it all in one go (not actually knowing it was near enough a 3 hour long episode). strawberry floating epic, I didn't expect it to be so dark in places. I'm actually scared the four following series will be a disappointment.

I just finished that the other night as well, I didn't watch it in one sitting though. I didn't expect it to be so dark/serious either but I was pleasantly surprised by the tone. Really enjoyed it overall. I thought the most interesting plot aspect was Gaius (sp?) and how we was struggling to deal with what he had caused.

I watched that some time last year, and I've been waiting for Lovefilm to send me S1 ever since. The bastards don't seem to want me to have it.

I noticed it was cheaper to buy the whole lot in one box set than to get each series individually. There's some very bizarre economics in place when buying four separate seasons on DVD costs nearly £100 but buying them all in one go costs £25.

I most enjoyed the stuff about sacrifice, really. It wasn't discussed all too greatly, because there's not really much to it, but to play on the emotions by illustrating a young, naïve girls demise as she's one of the people who has to be left behind was pretty damn profound. Gaius was good too, and I liked the things his story touched upon. I imagine these commentaries are discussed in greater detail over the length of the full show, but to get so much in over three hours is pretty good going.

Some films struggle with doing that.

Fantastic movie.

Loved every minute of it, visually stunning & amazing voice acting from all involved.

The garden scene with other dad & the final 15mins were just AMAZE in 3D.

Brilliant film, I'll be marking it down as a 10/10.

The atmosphere and character were incredible; halfway through it I was thinking: "this is a class act" and it got better and better.

Daniel Day Lewis and Paul Dano. Apart from that I don't really know.
