From reading your review it seems you hated it because it wasn't what you thought it was gonna be.

10 points for the trailer doing its job.

I was warned about it being a serious film actually.

Johnny English Reborn - no-one should be making James Bond parodies any more. Especially not parodies of the Roger Moore era; Bond hasn't been that campy for more than 20 years. The film itself is fairly bland and entirely predictable, but inoffensive and occassionally amusing. 5/10 if you're a Rowan Atkinson fan, 4/10 otherwise.

Cloverfield

Phwoar. At least now I don't feel that bad about how shakey my home videos are. Love the concept, especially the kind of flashback sections  Think it went a bit crapper after the helicopter crashed. Could three people really survive a helicopter falling straight out of the sky (I'm sure MCN can answer that)? And the death of that Hud guy seemed pretty tacked on. They should've killed him off before they got in the chopper if they had to do it at all.

At least I've seen Stainer in something else now. He still plays the same kind of bro character, though.

9/10: a good horror romp.

Scream 4: Gale-Weather's-"mask"-was-scarier/10

I didn't enjoy this one bit. The old cast were phoning it in, the new cast were terrible. The beginning set the tone of it being unbelievably gooseberry fool. If I knew what the term jumped the shark meant properly then I might have said it about that beginning.

Fortunately I know the term "unbelievably gooseberry fool".

Source Code - ****

It's not often you hope for the slightly cliched, happy ending but watching this again I still really wanted it to happen.

Great film, well directed and terrifically paced. Good show Mr Bowie.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. One of the more strawberry floated up horror films I've seen recently. That was pretty intense.

Paranormal Activity 2 - 6/10

Pretty good and effective in terms of scares, but the ending was gooseberry fool and the characters were annoying.

Not as good as the 1st, but the addition of the dog was a good touch.

Batman (the Tim Burton one) 7/10

Not bad, although the FPS in some of the shots were poor (although I don't know if that's iTunes or not), and it's really showing its age. Still, a good yarn.

Super 8 - 6.5/10

Not really sure what to give this one. It was well made and started off quite well but didn't really go anywhere exciting and was all a bit run-of-the-mill. Hmm.

Paul - 7/10

Decent film. Quite funny in places and an enjoyable watch. Nothing brilliant. It did have charm and brought a smile to my face, which wins it some points.

It is showing its age a bit isn't it? I thought that when I caught it on ITV2 the other night.

The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) - 3/10

I actually quite enjoyed the first film but this one was just such a bad movie. The contrast in quality between this and First Sequence is night and day which is a pity as the general concept of the second film is pretty good, it's just such a terrible script. Dr Heiter was a really good villain and Martin is quite an interesting successor but just isn't fleshed out enough. The whole first hour is just mundane build-up to the final 25 mins which feels so horribly laboured. It still has a few good moments (the pregnant woman's getaway springs to mind and the laxative scene  ) but overall it's just such a boring and terribly made film. Hopefully Tom Six returns to the series roots for Final Sequence and we'll forget this one ever happened.
