I ALWAYS wanted Uncle Buck sized pancakes that had to be tuned over with a snow shovel. Dream I intend to fill one day.

And of course I just had to go onto John Candy's Wikipedia page.

There is some public evidence to indicate Candy was highly self-conscious about his weight all his life. A few years before his death, he cancelled a scheduled appearance hosting a CBC awards show because the ceremony's advertising campaign jokingly touted him as "the biggest star in Canada."

Montage of Hughes' best moments. *Slight Spoilers within*.

I've seen and dug every scene in this montage (yes even including Some Kind of Wonderful).

Breakfast Club - flawed at points, but great dialogue throughout & has John Bender ( ) my fave Hughes creation.

Ferris Bueller - Hughes' superman, the kid who can get away with everything. Nice large spectical at points and lots of people would argue this is Hughes' best.

Uncle Buck - a million Sunday afternoons spent watching a powerhouse performance by John Candy. More family friendly, but please don't let that put you off, its great.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles - the out-&-out comedy. Again Candy is great and this is the movie I will always use as a counter argument to anyone slagging off Steve Martin's acting chops.

Sixteen Candles - the one for the girls. Molly Ringwald goes through the first romance. Great use of it in an episode of Scrubs mind.

Weird Science - the geek boy fantasy of creating the perfect woman. Some real nice moments in this, just goes a little 80's 'zany' at points. Still great.

Pretty in Pink - not directed by Hughes, but another film which made Ringwald a star.

Home Alone - much better on repeated viewings then I'd like to admit. Pesci really is awesome throughout and the movie also has some of that golden Hughes' dialogue.

So yeah...all of the above.

Also Trivia fact:

Bender is named after the John Hughes character. Groening is by all accounts a big fan.

Im deffo saving Breakfast Club or planes trains for last.

Breakfast Club, Beuller, Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, Uncle Buck, Home Alone, Sixteen Candles, Planes/Trains.

Then Breakfast Club again.

That'd mix up the best with some of the others, plus the straight comedies mixed up with the more teen movie stuff.

Swap that with sixteen candles and you still have an awesome movie playlist.
