BBC press. Don't worry, no spoilers:

The hit American drama returns with revelations that redefine familiar characters and shake the series to its core. The first chapter of Volume 3 kicks off moments after shots ring out, as the shocking identity of Nathan's assassin and the reasons why the Texas press conference had to be cut short are revealed.

Peter and Matt are immediately thrown into unexpected and uncharted territory. With his powers partially restored, Sylar decides that a visit to Claire could give him a boost. Meanwhile, in Tokyo, Hiro and Ando are charged with safeguarding a family secret that could split the planet apart. They discover that the path to a grim future starts with shady speedster Daphne. In New York City, thanks to Maya, Suresh makes a startling breakthrough that could change the world – or just destroy his. And who is Tracy Strauss?

The broadcast date for the episode isn't confirmed yet (ignore what anyone says). I'll confirm the slot by 7pm tomorrow.

Have they set a firm release date yet? (It's supposed to air sometime during Sept 27 & Oct 3.)

Anyway, the Villains...

A bit of a dafty question, but, I haven't watched season two, I heard it's very slow to get going. Would it be worth me missing out the entire season and start watching season three, or are there things I need to know, characters I have to learn about before going forth?

There are a few things you need to know about some characters (Sylar, Niki, Hiro as well as a couple of new characters), but that should all be covered in the 1hr catch up show which will air before Villains.

Although it might be a good to watch season 2 (if you can), it was pretty short & you should be able to watch it all over the weekend.

You can watch it in one night. We ended up doing that in halls one night after watching a couple of episodes.

Should know by next week.

They used to air repeats of Season 1 & 2 every Friday night, I might be wrong though.

I can't say for certain, but it's very likely. (don't get mad if it isn't)

Sorry I never got back to you about the confirmed airings. We've already had details of the repeat pattern for the new series, so I'll check at work on Monday and let you know.

There will no doubt be opportunities all over the place to catch up with episodes, for example in a month's time BBC2 will probably show a triple bill late at night one evening.
