As we eagerly await the release of the eagerly anticipated movie Ghost Warriors, we recently sat down and eagerly played through the console adaptation, Ghost Warriors - The Game. The game will be released on Wii, Playstation 3 and XBox 360, so start eagerly saving if you want to buy all 3 versions! Maybe you could sell an eagle to raise some money, but that just raises further questions of whether you can turn profit buying and selling birds of prey.
The game is completely different on each console. The 360 box just contains a circular piece of paper with "Mud Mint" written on it in red ink. The PS3 one is just as pointless; it contains some tic-tacs sellotaped together and a tiny cap fit for no man. Only the Wii version is an actual videogame, so apologies for misleading you earlier, you won't need to sell your eagle after all. KEEP YOUR EAGLES PEOPLE! SQUAWK!
Anyway, on with the review. The game contains some nifty motion controls that will have you eagerly (squawk!) awaiting a sequel. Flick your wrist and the Ghost Warrior in your control will run off a bridge. Point the Wiimote upwards and he will jump off a bridge. Shake the nunchuk and he will chokeslam your Commander off a bridge, then jump off after him. In fact, every single control in the game results in at least one of your Ghost Warriors plummeting from Truncus Bridge, the location of the first, and only, level.
The plot of the movie is pretty much ignored, as are many of the main characters and locations. In fact, this game has nothing to do with the Ghost Warriors movie whatsoever. Nonetheless, it's an excellent adventure piece that should have you entertained for upwards of 40 minutes. Multiplayer and online modes are a great addition, despite the fact that when you select either on the menu it only shows Beppe from Eastenders saying "Leave it out!" and shuts down your console.
