But the Wrestler is pretty disappointing. It's alright but full of cliches' really. I always knew what's going to happen, plot-wise, and I hate it when I'm right thus spoiling the film.

So you knew it was going to end the way it did?

I don't believe you.

Yeah the guy has a heart attack and ends up living alone in a gooseberry fool hole, not really happily ever after is it?

Well when I was guessing what the next scenario is possibly going to be right, I was correct.

His heart attack.
His attempt to bond with his daughter failed the first time.
Snogging the stripper, only for her to stop it.
Revelation that the stripper have a child.
Winning over the daughter.
Forget that he is supposed to meet his daughter.
Daughter saying that she doesn't want to see him again, ever.
Dejected, went back into wrestling.
Stripper goes to try stop him.
Stripper fails. Wrestler goes ahead.

But I do like the open ending. Leaving us wonder if he survives it and is basked in glory or having another heart attack, dies in the ring.

So predictable really.

Eh, did you want Mickey Rourke to go on a homicidal rampage or something? Sometimes things are predictable for a reason, because it makes sense.

Well that would be great. ;)

Maybe it's because I've seen a lot of films with similiar themes, and I've seen it too many times. The Wrestler wouldn't win any orginiality that's for sure, but other than that it doesn't appeal to me.

But I did enjoy watching it, despite my moanings but I got the feeling that I wouldn't have the urge to watch it again anytime.

I love how there are two films that stand out as being completely wrong for this list.

What did you really expect from the two most obscure letters in the alphabet?

EDIT: Although looking at the completed main page of films now, they do stick out like sore thumbs.

Wow, didn't think Wizard of Oz would be beaten.

Good movies - I've not seen 39 Steps yet, though. Replace that with Of Mice and Men and you have my top 5.

This is 1983... and Snow White was the first film I've seen.

I was an innocent 5 year old. My mum took me to a cinema, which I don't know what it is. I sit there, bit scared, in the darkness with weird but nice smell in the air.

The curtains open. A Goofy cartoon suddenly come on this big screen. I was in awe of this huge screen. When it finishes, a Donald Duck cartoon appears.

Then it finishes. Snow White's opening scenes started... I was sitting there all the way, eyes fixed to the screen even though I don't understand the story (it was waaaay before subtitles is mainstream on the telly and cinemas) and I was a bit confused as it's a long cartoon! I've never watched a film before, never mind a long cartoon.

I cried a bit when Snow White "dies* but I screamed the house down when she woke up, much to the embrassment of my mum because all the adults are looking towards me (and go "oh that poor little deaf boy...")

I left the cinema, prancing around my mum, asking when the next time will be. So born a film buff.

A worthy winner of the 30s decade (I didn't realise it was from the 30s! Amazing.)

I bought Hoop Dreams from eBay after seeing it mentioned a few times, but the disc kept freezing at the menu screen so I couldn't watch it. Hopefully the people who nominated it don't know what they're talking about.

You should get back in the game Mitch Yost.
