Do our choices have to be ones that are artsy fartsy films that no-one except Banjo has heard of, or can we go for recognised Hollywood classics?

As far as I know we can pick any film that we want. I guess it would be unfair to pick something that is new out at the cinema or just out on DVD as it will cost too much for everyone to buy it (and not everybody likes pirating!).

Have a look at last years list, quite a mix of the modern, old and artsy fartsy.

I think you'll find that I last picked The Quiet Man, a Hollywood classic (strawberry float you Moggy). This time, I'm likely going to opt for something short but sweet.

As long as no one picks a film like Fight Club that we've all seen many times already.

Edit: I still need to watch The Quiet Man. I even bought the DVD.

You can pick anything you want but its better not to try pick well known films that everyone has already seen just to get liked.
I wanted this group to introduce people to films that they would have never seen before. Although ID picked a crap film he had the right idea.

Yep, didn't like it. I found it completely uninteresting and I struggled to not fall asleep. I really couldn't care less about any of the characters and the music was very annoying. Not my cup o tea at all I'm afraid, but the cinematography wasn't too bad. 3/10

Yeah, although I didn't like the film he gets +points for picking something very few people have seen, i'd certainly never heard of it before. The main reason I picked The Square last time was because I knew nobody would have seen it and my next pick is something a slightly more well-known but it's foreign-language and I think only one or two here may have seen it. I'm still surprised nobody has picked a foreign-language film yet  .

Like Die Hard last time. That was a bit unimaginative.

I don't mind too much whether the films are well known or not, but I think it would be good if they were ones that are going to provoke strong reactions - positive and negative comments - rather than just 'yeah, it's great, love it' x 15 replies.

That's what I hope to see from my choice, whenever it comes round to it, anyway.

You should get back in the game Mitch Yost.

The Go-Getter 3/10

Hated most of the characters, didn't like the story and found the music and ideas a bit crap. Liked the pretty girls though.
