I saw this guy on TV in my hotel room in New York a couple of weeks back. He is a crazy man. What I find really disturbing about US news in general though is how opinionated and right-wing the newsreaders are. The news isn't supposed to be opinion, it's supposed to be fact. As much as I grow weary of BBC news, at least it remains impartial and doesn't shout at me until I agree with what it's saying. The trouble is, if you get a guy like Glenn Beck in front of a large audience of (no offence) ignorant, paranoid and supremely religious people, they will believe what they are being told. That's basically middle-America right there. Scary

disclaimer: this is not meant to be a slur on America, I just think it's full of crazy people :shifty:

Just watching that paedophile video on page 1 and Glenn Beck says "Remember these are 'yes or no' questions" then his 2nd question is "if not why?"

How are you supposed to answer that with a yes or no? :fp:

The fact is news can't really be impartial. As a reporter you've got to take a position somewhere.

How the strawberry float is he married? The thought that they would let that man procreate is, well, frighting.

A two-parter of Bill O'Reilly vs Michael Moore. Guess who wins

O'Reilly or Beck are laughably awful propagandists with precisely zero credibility among anyone with intelligence. The reason Fox choose hacks like O'Reilly and Beck is that they simplify complicated issues with blistering idiocy so that the ignorant majority of the Republican party can understand.

At least Beck is funny though (albeit unintentionally), O'Reilly is just infuriating.

The guys a massive tit. Also I can't see if you really are a libertarian how you can agree with the guy. He is in noway in favour of free speech even he says he is, his actions clearly negate his words.

I didn't say I was a Libertarian (although I share similar political ideas) or that O'Reilly was, I said Glenn Beck describes himself as one, Bill O'Reilly is more of a traditional style conservative (not that it means he is against free speech).

Is O'Reilly's anger now just a part of the TV persona though? Part of why people watch the show etc?

One of those clips is back stage footage of him calling the TV station stuff idiots, so yeah I would say he is a pretty angry man.

Watching his clips he is massively against free speech.

Also if your not a Libertarian what do you subscribe to? Objectivition
