Muse and Stevie Wonder set to headline Glastonbury 2010

Michael Eavis reveals who will be joining U2 at festival

Muse and Stevie Wonder both look set to play headline slots at this year's Glastonbury festival, organiser Michael Eavis has revealed.

Eavis, speaking at the Event Production Show in the Olympia 2 in London today (February 2), confirmed Matt Bellamy's band for the Saturday (June 26) of the event. He said that it was probable that Stevie Wonder will headline the Sunday (27) night, reports Event magazine.

Michael Eavis' daughter Emily previously told BBC 6music that they were "still slightly confirming the Sunday night headliner but apart from that, we've pretty much finalised the Pyramid Stage".

U2 had previously been announced as Friday (25) night headliners. Hot Chip, Dizzee Rascal, Jack Johnson and Vampire Weekend also look set to play at the Somerset event.

That's....a strawberry floating terrible line-up. I don't like a single one of those acts. I certainly wouldn't pay to see them. That includes all of the non-headline acts.

Seriously thinking about cancelling my ticket now.

You think they'd have Led Zepplin supporting Muse?

What I was thinking might happen would be something on the lines of this:

Them Crooked Vultures are playing a killer set, then all of a sudden they're all like "Guys we've got a special guest to come on stage for you right now to sing!" Then enter stage right - ROBERT PLANT APPEARS!

:o :o

Because Robert Plant was doing solo stuff earlier in the day like.

Then they play in a somewhat improv Led Zep way not the full band obviously but it still kicks ass and everyone loves it.

THIS WILL HAPPEN.

Were you at the Foo Fighters gig where John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page rocked up onto the stage and they played a couple of Led Zep tracks?

I was. It was awesome. 8-)

I missed this, well my hopes are dashed. :( While I know they are all big acts, I thought there was going to be something extra special for the 40th

I would love to go back to Glastonbury (last time I went was 1995 :D ) but can't be arsed with the effort of sending off photos, waiting to be accepted etc.

I thought Snoop Dogg was banned from Britain? I'm sure I heard a few years ago that he got into a fight at the airport and was not allowed back.

Slash would be cool to see. I saw Guns n Roses in 1992 and don’t accept that the new GnR are really the same band.

And the Wurzels are playing! They should be on the main stage though. :x :x

You are right, I wonder what happend there, though if I remember correctly he was not actually involved in the actual incident that caused him to get banned, it was his Entourage.

Was easier back in the day, first time I went in '99 we just rocked up to the gate and paid £20 to get in :shifty: it is a tad bit more secure now.

That's some line up. I've never been to Glasto, but looking at that I wished I had. My girlfriend has been before and her dad, and his partner are going this year. Slightly jealous now. Saying that, my mate is getting married on the 26th and I'm an usher, so I wouldn't have been able to go anyway.

I got in honestly in 1995 but I remember people were getting in by using ladders and digging tunnels. :D On the Sunday people were just allowed to walk in with no need for tickets or anything. Doubt that happens now!!

It just goes to prove that the 20th century was better than the 21st.
