Yep, I was just focusing on the modes that will keep people going back, but 4 player co-op campaign is also going to be immense! :wub:

I'm wondering what sort of level structures they'll have for the campaign. Stuff to accommodate 4 players or just splitting the paths in two at points? I'm sure Epic could come up with some crazy ass levels if it was the former.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what they do. I'm guessing the levels are going to have to be bigger at least to incorporate the two extra people.

I hope there will be plenty of multiple paths. It always gives you a reason to play through the campaign again.

GOW 3 unlocks triggered by old Achievements

Achievements earned in old Gears of War titles will unlock new goodies in Gears of War 3.

"It's mostly around weapon skins in terms of tying into historical stuff," Epic's Rod Fergusson told MTV.

"Two of the ones...I guess we haven't announced this but we have to announce it eventually, right? Two of the weapon skins are based on historical weapon skins."

"So if you want the gold lancer and the gold hammerburst in 'Gears 3,' you get them by owning the gold hammerburst and the gold lancer in 'Gears 2,' so those skins transfer over."

There will also be a number of chrome skins rewarded for completing certain achievements in past "Gears" games, Fergusson told MTV.

"If you did something in 'Gears' PC you get a chrome skin, if you did something in 'Gears 2' you get a chrome skin. The chrome set is sort of our thank you to people who played our games in the past."

"Generally whenever we do unlocks, we do it based on achievements. That's why I've been trying to tell people about the level 100 thing. No, it's not about getting level 100 [in 'Gears of War 2' multiplayer], it's about Veteran Gear.

"Get that achievement and that'll get you something. I don't care if you're level 100, you have to have the Veteran Gear achievement."

The 360 really is becoming up there with the PC for gooseberry fool like this.

I mean i've heard of games being leaked a couple weeks before launch but not a full 2 months before launch. Is that definitely the final code that's been leaked?

Cheers for the heads up though,i'll definitely be wary of spoilers. Although this'll be one of the rare games where i'll probably spend a lot of time with the multiplayer, the Gears 3 campaign is my primary focus. I'm probably one of few people out there that's actually interested in how the story is going to end

The leaked version seems to have textures problems; low res, missing and framerate problems. So it's definitely not the final code, and the .xex is time stamped - March 2011
