Hope they make proper use of the TG license. I want car darts and motorhome racing dammit!

I'm sure they will as there'd be no point signing a long term deal with the BBC if they weren't going to make full use of it. The stuff in the Forza 3: UE was just the beginning as mentioned in a news articles about it a while back:

BBC telly show Top Gear has signed a "long-term" deal to collaborate on all future Forza Motorsport racing games.

Jeremy Clarkson's motorshow will be integrated into future Forza games, and there will be "co-promotions" between the two for petrol heads to go batty about.

The first fruits of the Top Gear-Forza love-in will be evident in a new Forza 3 Ultimate Collection, which is due out on 29th October.

Can't wait for the game but Forza 3 will keep me nice and busy till it's released.

Forza Motorsport 4 Announced!
Biggest Forza yet coming Fall 2011.

For the past several months, we here at Turn 10 have been talking to you, the Forza Faithful, about our mysterious Next Big Thing. Today, we toss aside those hushed mentions and sidelong glances, and officially unveil the identity of our next project: Forza Motorsport 4! The ground-breaking Forza Motorsport series will return to Xbox 360 in fall 2011, featuring support for Kinect as well as the classic controls you’ve come to expect from the Forza series.

For your first peek at the game, you need look no further than our announce trailer which aired Saturday, Dec. 11 during the 2010 VGA Awards on SPIKE (check out the trailer here). Those who saw the show know that our announcement included an incredible stunt performed by Top Gear USA’s own Tanner Foust—if you missed it, you can check out the video here on the site on Monday. You can also take a look at our first four screens from Forza Motorsport 4 in the Forza 4 VGA Gallery.

Now that Forza 4 is officially heading towards its fall finish line, we’ve only just begun talking about the game. We can’t wait to share all the juicy details of what we’re cooking up for all of you and, over the coming months, we’ll be bringing you regular Forza 4 updates here at forzamotorsport.net including the latest news, in-depth feature details, developer podcasts, and, of course, lots of eye candy in the form of videos and screenshots. This is the biggest Forza Motorsport yet, after all, and we’ll have plenty to talk about.

The fact that it mentions classic controls suggests this is going to be a full release, which has Kinect controls in the package for those who want them, but it will support the same wheels and controllers as Forza 3. If so, I guess the biggest kinect implementation may well be head tracking to look round the car.

If the E3 demo is anything to go by, they'll have a special Kinect mode where speed is automatic and you just control the steering, as well as being able to walk around and look at/get in the cars you own (not sure they'll have that option for all of them or a select number).

Either way, the E3 demo was a lot of fun, and much more responsive and enjoyable than Joy Ride. Given that it's a small part of a much bigger game, it's much better value than MS's Avatar-based racer.

For me it sounds great to have the core game with a normal controller and some extras to use kinect with. Like exploring the car and some racing mini games. Looking forward to this, I might actually buy Forza 3 first though.

Great to see that they've improved the lighting, that was always one of the weakest parts of the previous games. Now they just need to increase the number of cars on track and add support for the DFGT wheel and i'll buy it.

I'm currently addicted to Forza 3 (which I've only very recently got my hands on), so by the time I've had enough of that it'll be Forza 4 time

It's down to the likes of Logitech to make their wheels 360 compatible. Not sure why you'd expect Turn 10 to support an unlicensed wheel.

It's USB and works with the PC. I don't care whether it's down to MS or Turn 10 but after playing GT5 with the wheel I don't think I can go back to the controller for sim driving games, and there's zero chance i'll buy a different wheel in addition to the one I've got.

So's my webcam. Doesn't mean I should expect it to work with a 360 though.

Well, if they can find a way to add Kinect head-tracking and still keep the framerate at 60fps, this could be special.

I'm not particularly fussed about Kinect controls when it comes to the actual driving - I suspect it'll be an "Arcade mode" kind of option, like how it looked at E3.

It'll be very interesting to see how this compares to what GT5 will be like in Autumn 2011, after all the patching that game's going to enjoy.

Well there's no real reason why it shouldn't work. I don't want to derail this thread but i'm sure there are lots of people with wheels that would buy Forza if it supported them.

It is down to peripheral manufacturers to get their stuff licensed though. Just look at all the Datel stuff that stopped working after MS introduced the NXE and the various third party USB pads that stopped working after Sony patched out the PS3 hacks. It's not an ideal situation but that's how it is.

Yes...at last...the lighting looks fantastic as do the metallic materials. This is night and day to Forza 3.

Hopefully this will be released in 2011 as a full release rather than a Kinect edition.

Those screenshots certainly look stunning, but i wonder, will the graphics look that good in proper races or just during that Kinect walk around mode.

Also i hope they've been able to increase the amount of cars in a race. I'm interested to hear what stuff they're doing with the career mode. Whether it'll be an evolution of F3's or whether they're trying something new
