There were far worse songs than Ireland. Was certainly memorable but I thought it might be too out there for Eurovision. Plus points for sneaking in a very sexual lyric in there.

UK was fine. The staging should get points at minimum as it was quite good. Song was standard fare.

Croatia to win the public vote. Its catchy nonsense. And after Cha Cha Cha last year.....

That Irish entry might be one of the best STAGED entries ever. I honestly think it could win.

This us a strong year, people have got the memo how to get points at the contest.

It's an interesting year as a whole as Croatia whilst being favourites are amongst the longest odds a fave has been in recent years. The more novelty songs have to get big votes from the jury, a big ask. The serious songs need to persuade the public they are worth 200-400 points. Cha Cha Cha did not persuade the jury anywhere near enough last time out to win as a novelty song.

Ultimately, the entry that can score Top Three with both will win.

Needless to say I see a jury 0pts coming for Finland!

It was nice to see Windows 95 get the love it deserves, in Eurovision with the naked bum of a Finnish man.

Been a pretty mixed bag again tonight, the French guy was probably the best there has been so far.

I do wish they'd tone down the strobing though as it's making some of the performances almost unwatchable.

The fake ass cheering during Israel said it all.

Is there any reason it's on now and not Saturday?

It's a semi final. The final is on Saturday.

The 2 semi finals used to be on BBC3 instead of 1, though I’m not sure if it was ever shown here in the 90s or 00s? I don’t remember it…but then again once a year was enough.

It wasn’t a very good song, not sure it deserved to go through no matter the circumstances.

Final should be fun.

Remember, Eurovision is DEFINITELY not political.

Would be a more controversial winner than Loreen was last year.

I hope Israel doesn’t have a similar boost to that of Ukraine a few years ago, in that people vote based on their - whether you agree or not - sympathies rather than the song itself. Feels like the ‘anti-woke’ will be encouraged to vote for Israel out of spite.

I know the Eurovision has always been political - particularly in the voting process - but it would be nice to sit in front of the TV tomorrow and get sloshed to some very random songs. I’m craving a bit of escapism but it’s looking unlikely.

Wouldn't be surprised in the least if a protester runs on stage or some form of interruption occurs on Saturday.

Israel are second-favourites now. Definitely an ‘anti-woke’ movement, I think.

It'll be a fun contest if it's held in Tel Aviv next year.

Seems the Netherlands entry is being investigated for a comment during a press conference with the Israeli entry. Going to be a wild 36 hours.
