Yeah, I just went back to check. One camera shot throughout.

One thing I noticed about the stand the balls were on was that there seemed to be a gap between the base the the tube leading up to the balls.

I don't think he needs the £2.4 million.

Yup. He's incredibly clever and it's probably incredibly rudimentary...Friday should be good though!

Wow!

Derren Brown is the new Jesus!

Shame I'll be on holiday tomorrow and won't be able to watch the explanation episode.

New Peep Show = WIN.

How much money does he get for winning 5 numbers (or did he not buy a lottery ticket?).

Yes, it was always in view. Somehow he managed to get numbers onto those balls as soon as the lottery draw happened, which is a very impressive trick.

Channel four wouldn't let him buy a ticket

Hmm, maybe the numbers are not actually on the balls Brown showed us but are rather projected onto the balls in some way??

his explaination will be some bullshit about studying the number for the last year, where what he has done is just get the numbers to appear on the balls within seconds of them being announced.

Indeed. I was really looking forward to this because I thought he was going to announce them before the draw. Instead now it's just obvious he is up to magic tricks and misdirection again. No idea how he did it, hugely impressive but not what I was expecting.

I thought this but would be pretty sick to have a massive projector moving at the same speed as he turns the balls around? Perhaps there's some special materials involved and the numbers can be somehow 'burned' on from range. I dunno. Guess we wait until Friday. :)

That was my guess, too. It's still a fun trick, and I'd dare say the ratings for the actual Lottery tonight are no doubt the lowest ever- 1 person, and that's Derren Brown.

He wouldn't use special effects like that. He moved a few of the balls too.

clever trick I agree.....but it would have been far more impressive if he has showed us his predictions before the draw.

It was, but he wasn't stood next to it, which means clever camera trickery could have meant we were seeing a non-live feed for that half of the screen, I'm sure the actual illusion will be more elaborate than that, but it makes it less impressive when it's possible to offer up explanations straight away.

He did roll each ball upward a bit, looked legit. It's obviously misdirection, it will be interesting to see how it was done.

That was impressive. I'll be watching Friday for sure.

I'm going to go with "strawberry floating ShopTo".

It was a blank.

What was that on HIGNFY?

Derren Brown: "A blank can still skill you"

HIGNFY presenter: "Then why use a blank?"

Less chance of killing you.

I know given the choice which one I would choose.

Blank at point blank range to the head = pretty much 100% chance of killing you.

I say "pretty much" because I'm sure plenty of people have survived real bullets to the head too.

Anyway, impressive, but the "legal reasons" shouldn't really apply if it was just a prediction (as was pointed out already). Glad my plans of having a life fell through :shifty:
