I think one of the most offensive aspects of it is how they've sought to trivialise and belittle conditions like anxiety.

Anxiety is nasty gooseberry fool, it can be horrendously debilitating yet they act as if it's nothing.

Went for my counselling session today and it went pretty well, i think just being able to talk about some of my issues has helped a great deal.

I can definitely relate to these feelings, I have Autism, Epilepsy, PTSD, partial deafness due to brain damage and my misses is disabled as well, she has complex issues with her legs and can walk short distances but needs a wheelchair to really get around.... I have seen the nastiness we both get increase since all this stuff with the conservatives started, I've also seen other people get accused of being a burden or scroungers it's awful. I have just had to fill in new Pip forms so am waiting to hear back and it's a horrible anxious wait.

Rishi and co want to divide and scare people and it's horrible...

So I just want to take this opportunity to tell you guys and gals that you are all fantastic, and that this place is a great help.

Shy your an awesome guy, keep your head up I'm sure love will win out and people will turn on these buttholes I think the local election result shows that.

My wife has been ill for well over a month now, and has had booked doctors appointments cancelled at the last minute so she's not actually seen anyone. I managed to get her a phone appointment with a private medical thing through work, who only then tried to sign her up to a private practice. Came home from work early today (we're supposed to be out for a show tonight straight after work) and her eyes are bright yellow.

Finally managed to talk to someone who's agreed to actually see her in person this evening. I'm hoping she can then go straight to hospital to see what the strawberry float is going on as this is ridiculous. She's really scared too and no strawberry floater would talk to her or see her.

Oh dear, not good, hope you're able to get to the bottom of things and she feels better soon Ad.

Thanks. It's just infuriating, she could well be seriously ill but nobody would see her. She's hardly been eating at all, could barely breath last week. Even the call earlier was "ill get someone to call you back". Not oh gooseberry fool get to the nearest GP now so someone can actually look at you. No, let's have a phone call.

My experience wasn't much different to start with sadly, either no one would see me, or if i did see someone i'd get fobbed off which was why my recent illness went untreated to the point where i lost 2 stone through not eating, an was in bed each morning with my head hovering over a bucket.

The state of the health system is utterly diabolical.

I was just saying, the attitude is give a pretend appointment that's so far in the future that the person will either get better by then, or simply die. Either way, saves a doctors visit right.

All th best for your wife, this is really unnecessary extra stress when all you want is to be seen by a professional.

If you have an A&E near, I would consider taking her.

The NHS is run into the strawberry floating ground. It's basically emergency only at this point.

A and E is the best option, NHS non emergency line (dial 111) will talk you through a script but if it's serious they can then say go to walk in centre and book an appointment. But really A and E is the way to go. Hope she is ok.

I'm sorry that Mrs Ad is so poorly and I hope that the situation soon improves, Victor.

As for doctors actually seeing people, you're right, it's a joke. Round my neck of the woods you have to wait weeks to see your GP and they seem to do everything to avoid it; they usually just offer a phone call (eventually). But if you go to the surgery there are very few people there and not many phone calls being made - it's a wonder what is actually going on.

I should add that I recognise that many GP/hospital staff are working under great pressure and that they often do a fantastic job... it's just that actually getting to speak to someone is a key - and, seemingly, wide spread - problem.

The bright yellow eyes and hardly able to eat sounds like what I went through when I had gull bladder issues during Covid times... Id think about just going to A and E and saying the pains more than she can cope with.

Went to the gp and she was in there less than 10 minutes before being referred to the closest hospital (thankfully very close to home). Went there with her and a few people were consulting, and she's being kept in for scans and various tests. Will be in at least 2 days apparently.

I'm not sure I even mentioned in here that I broke my wrist and didn't figure it out until a week later, I had pretty much the same experience and came back in a half cast. The pharmacist who was the only person who would talk to me saw the colour of my hand and considered due to a break or sprain it might go necrotic so armed with the possibility my hand might literally die he suggested I go to hospital immediately, which I did.

Still had to work anyway but yeah not sure if I didn't post as much during this time. My last appointment I asked if I could get an update / projection on my referral for ADHD which has been almost two years now (I've asked this maybe 5 or 6 times and they said no), that's on top of comprehensive autism that is now 15 years (I must have asked for that on 20 or so different occasions). I only have a diagnosis from a psychiatrist not a neurophysiologist which is actually what the referral was for (and that's correct because autism is not a mental health problem).

I might just have to become a digital health tourist or pay about £1,000 for a private assessment, that's assuming the NHS accept the assessment and prescribe medication.

I've only been managing that on my own for 35 years so I am more experienced falling through the net than receiving any help whatsoever, you'd think it's by design. I might well be dead by the time I beat my own record for not receiving treatment - the outlier being depression (90% meds only), which is a symptom of undiagnosed neurodiversity :simper:

I've had an update, apparently they've found anomalies on her lover which might be cancer. I think they're going to update us early this morning.
