DaLax...Albear...take a bow. Incredible car history from you Albear, I'd love any of the cars you've had. As for you DeLax, check this bad boy out.

It's not mine, sadly, I can't afford it at the moment. That's because it has 8600 miles on the clock.

Ah, I remember this. Is it still up for sale? If so how much for?

It seems like an incredible car. the only thing that would frighten me is that it almost seems too good to be true.

Yeah, it's still available. I rang them up for a price, they refused.

:fp:

Considering this car...

...a 1991 BMW 325i Sport J reg, that has '93,500 backed up by a superb history file an inch thick!, is going fo £7450, I would say that the above car is over £10 000. It's a collectors car these days, and that one has such low mileage it's even on the original factory tyres. I don't think it's too good to be true really, just to expensive. And, unfortunately, I'd run it into the ground.

 I think you're going to have to let go of that one Jnr. It's lovely no doubt, but if they are being that cagey about price, then you just know it's going to be painful.

I remember discussing with you years ago about what car you wanted to get. I saw you put a Jag up earlier. I love Jags, have you thought about a XJS (old School), or maybe an Xk8 (a bit more pricier)

My pop, who now drives a very nice car(SLR), Still to this day insists the XJS is still his favourite car of all time.

Why is it that I get all the stick for my wonderful machine and this person receives no feedback on their "car" whatsoever?

Difference being is that the 500 is super cool (it's in Top Gear's sub zero section), it oozes style both inside and out, is great fun to chuck about and very cheap to buy and run, plus I get loads of good comments (like the security guard at work today who thought it was brilliant).

Your car on the other hand is sub hairdressers car, I asked my hairdresser wifey to be and she would not be seen dead in it.. :D

I'm getting my first proper car in about 2 or 3 years time, basically once I've built up my no-claims on my 2 litre Vecra (a good, honest car, but not what I'm aspiring too). I flit between BMW M3s, M5, over to hot hatches in the Civic Type-R and the mini Cooper S, over to luxury saloons like the XJR. Without some serious test drives, I don't know what I really want.

In 2 or 3 years time, me and you need to have a serious chat.

Ford Fiesta Zetec Climate 1.25, Metallic Red - 08 Plate. Nice car, £940-something to insure but it's my first car so I thought that was about as good as it was going to get. Planning on keeping it for a year or two more, eventually would like something a bit sporty, not really sure whether to go for something a bit newer if I can afford it (i.e. used Lotus Exige) or something classic - I do like some of the old classic American sports cars, Chevvy Camaro, Chevvy Corvette, Dodge Viper, Pontiac Firebird.. we'll see what's doing the rounds at the time I guess :D

Why did you get a brand new car as your first? You've lost a shedload of money straight off the bat, and if you're ever going to have bumps and scrapes, it's now.

What? It's not like I said "piss off n00b" or something. I merely made the same response to him as I would to anyone else on here.

the simple answer is because I can

It was £7995 or something like that brand new which I thought was a pretty good deal for a new car, second hand Fiestas (dealers were asking £7000-7500 for used 06-07 plate Fiestas when I was looking so it seemed like the logical thing to just buy a new one and take advantage of the offer.) That way I could not only have the colour I wanted/ and features I wanted, but also it comes with manufacturer's warranty, a years road tax/ MOT - the works really.

It was a bit of a nightmare getting it, the first one they got for me got dented whilst they were waiting for me to collect it, I obviously wasn't pleased and was not happy with the compensation they offered. So I asked them to get me a new one - which meant a further fortnight's wait...

It just worked out by far the better deal.. I could also have it on finance which I couldn't have done if I had gone and bought one privately.. I could afford to pay for it right off if I wanted but that meant taking from my savings account which I didn't want to touch.. complicated, but it made sense for me to buy new basically.

Besides, I've had it since late April/ early May now and haven't had anything serious, only thing I remember was some pillock clipping my driver's side wing mirror but htankfully it only left a small paint scuff.. I could probably get rid of that if I could be arsed.

Ah, but for £7995 you could have had any number of cars which would outperform it, both in fuel economy and awesomeness.

possibly.. there can't be too many that out perform the Fiesta on fuel consumption though... if any??

The new Fiesta model looks nice enough anyway, plus it's what I learned to drive in.

My issue is that he didn't at least wait for the new Fiesta, which is out very soon I believe. The current Fiesta looks so strawberry floating bland and boring, whilst the new one looks so, so much better.

That, and they say they want someone who would keep it essentially in some kind of hermetically sealed garage and not ever actually driven. Shame really. It is very very nice.

For my next car, i'd love to get a '98 reg or younger Nissan 200sx. It's a car I can see myself affording in a year or two, especially with a couple more years no claims.

Aiming high there! im guessing you are loaded because the insurance on any of those cars would be a killer for most people. Incidently how old are you?

It's his choice though. Plus being a new car means he's going to treat it like a baby!
