Interesting choice. A former housemate of mine thought the presence of that song on the White Album as little short of a travesty. To twee to be there, despite the hint of cross-dressing late in the lyrics. Mind you, he also regarded the presence of the blackbird noises on, you guessed it, 'Blackbird' as an abomination, so it's just possible that he cared a little too much than is healthy about that album.

I'll weigh in with the obvious:

Hey Jude
In My Life

and one possibly controversial choice:

Across the Universe

plus the ironist list:

Maxwell's Silver Hammer
Revolution No 9
Oh Bla Di Oh Bla Da

err.... do they have any other good ones?

This. I've never really understood The Beatles. This is probably going to make me hated, but I always think they sound pretty run of the mill.

That's only because everyone after them was influenced by them in some way. When they started, they were pretty unique.

I can't say I like any of their songs.

I'm more a Led Zep man myself.

I'm all for A Day In The Life. Excellent song.

When I was a child Eleanor Rigby really scared me. I hated it whenever my parents put it on in the car.
